Shared with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice darker brown hue with a thin head that fades to leave thin wisps.

S - Aromas of potent barrel and bourbon, light barrel woody notes, good chocolate notes as well, nice light vanilla as well

T - Taste is similar to the nose, very nice barrel notes, good vanilla. Good chocolate, nice warming bourbon with nice lightly sweet malts. Really good.

M - Mouthfeel is lightly, carbonated,a bit thin.

O - Overall this was a rather solid barrel aged stout, very nice base beer with good barrel notes . Well done.

Big fluffy creamy 1/2 finger mocha head that fades fairly quickly, pitch black beer with nice legs.

Nose huge dark choc cocoa fudge, mild roasted coffee and char, nutty roast malt, nice but light toasted oak and bourbon barrel, little mineral content, little vanilla late.

Taste huge dark choc fudge, cocoa, bitter roast, little fudgey cocoa with light vanilla barrel, faint caramel and nutty coffee, into mild spicy earthy hops, mild bourbon notes with the toasted oak, little light on the malt tough.

Mouth is thicker bod but a little thinner, decent carb, very light booze.

Overall pretty nice but lacking a bit especially on the body and base malt, and barrel.

EBF sample. Pours very dark brown. Aroma is pretty cut and dry but enticing. Roast and coffee and chocolate syrup. Bourbon is easy to detect as well. The flavor is of fudge, vanilla, chocolate syrup, bitter chocolate and roast. Bourbon lends a good amount of extra flavor. Perhaps not as thick and chewy as other stalwarts of this style. I get some alcohol heat. A pretty good bourbon aged Imperial Stout. Again, not reinventing the wheel or anything but it was definitely quite good.

On tap at the brewery. Served in a taster.

Appearance - Black witce khaki head. A little transparent and brown at the edges. Great head retention.

Smell - Tons of bourbon. Very sharp booze. Nutty malts. Some dark chocolate. Hefty oak.

Taste - Lots of barrel. Has almost a tang from the oak. Very intense. Dark chocolate, but the nutty malts blend with the oak and overpower. Very woody in the finish. Leaves an unpleasant wood aftertaste.

Mouthfeel - Boozy. Medium heavy, but not quite chewy. Sharp woody finish.

Overall - Very nice bourbon flavor, but the woodiness is too much for my tastes.
