An imperial stout — a classic style so rich and flavorful that it was once the private beverage of Russian Czars. The profile is malty sweet, hop bitter roasted, full-bodied, alcoholic and deliciously complex. Beer doesn’t get much more intense than this!

Loved this on draft when eating at BJ's in Oklahoma. Smooth and flavorful.

Going through to add some of my first beers/reviews
This is the first 'craft(large)' beer that got me into craft brews
Pours standard black with a creamy nitro head
Dark and sweet coffee aroma
Smooth, dark, coffee notes
Ultra drinkable

On draft in BJs in Attleboro Massachusetts
Why am I drinking here? Fuck it, snobbery aside, let’s see what a semi-genuine and semi-sarcastic review of this one will be like
Pours a dark brown with 2 fingers of of creamy off white head that fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
The aroma on this one is subdued, non-offensive, and somewhat enjoyable. I’m picking up on aromas of brown bread, raisin, milk chocolate, and light roast coffee
Surprisingly, there’s more to it in taste. Mostly just the same notes, but still, it’s fuller. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting milk chocolate, caramel, light raisin, and brown bread. The swallow brings notes of roasty coffee, brown bread, milk chocolate, caramel, and light earthy hops
A medium full body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a creamy beer. Finishes neutral and somewhat balanced
Yeah it’s not great (or really a RIS) but who cares? You get what you get

Served on nitro tap in a pint like glass
Appearance- The beer is served with a nice cascading stream of nitro bubbles coming up through a dark brown brew. The cascading foam settles to the top of the brew, persisting for quite some time, and fading to leave tons of streaky lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell -The aroma is odd. It is not all that roasty for an imperial stout. There are some light toasty notes with a decent sum of caramel. Along with these smells comes a little bit of coffee and a chicory like smell and an almost melon like smell... Very odd.
Taste -The taste begins as one may expect with a nice roasty and toasty taste that has a good sum of caramel and chocolate sweetness as well as some light vanilla. As the taste advances some more sweetness of a cream like taste and some molasses hit the flavor profile. At the end a little bit of char joins in and leaves one with a smooth and sweet taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel- Being a nitro pour the feel is creamy and smooth. Overall the feel is great for the dark and sweet tastes and makes for a easy and enjoyable sipper.
Overall - An Ok stout. The flavors and smells aren't the best, but with the nitro pour, which definitely enhance it, it is an alright brew overall.

Sampled December 29, 2018 from tap in pint style glass.
Appearance: Very dark black, dark color, with a dark tan head of 1 finger. The head lasted only a short length of time, and did not leave much lacing on the side of the glass.
Smell: Strong oak, and caramel aromas. There are also roasted fire aromas, along with some coffee, vanilla, and hops in the aroma. Nice combination and balance between the hops, malts, and other aromas.
Taste: Pronounced coffee and caramel flavors. Also burnt malt flavors. Full-bodied with nice balance of malt and hops. It is very smooth, almost like a milk stout. There is a hint of sweetness like chocolate that may be due to the oats and malts, but it has a good taste. Light hop flavor as well.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied, with strong alcohol which matches with the marketed 8.5%.
Overall: This Stout is a good stout. It has strong flavors as well as alcohol, and the mix of oak, malts, and hops makes for an interesting stout. I would buy this again.
