Tasting Notes: Our imperial IPA was originally brewed to celebrate our 2nd Anniversary in 2014. We were so taken with her, we decided to keep her on as one of our first bottled beers. A complex IPA that delivers on many lev-els. The simplicity of the grain bill allows the hops to really shine. Tropical fruits and lemon on the nose with a spicy finish that tickles your taste buds.

Golden yellow with a 2" thick, foamy white head, which lasts. heavy lacing.

Aroma is floral, lemony. grapefruity.

Taste is lemon, grapefruit, pine.

Medium body, lively carbonation. Dry, resinous finish.

Now, this is a very nice Imp IPA.

Poured into a 14oz semi-clear glass, with the rest of the 16oz can drank straight from the can, like a barbarian. Paired with homemade burgers.

L: Frankly, this looks like an unhealthy persons' urine. A hazy dark yellow with little foaming at the top does not leave a strong first impression.

S: The smell coming off this is fairly weak compared to the taste, but is pleasant citrus with a mild hoppy fragrance. Frankly, if my body wash smelled like this I wouldn't mind.

T: Wow, this beer hides a lot of flavor and taste and really impresses the palate. Paired with the salty-umami flavor of the burgers, the citrus burst and mild hop finish really leaves a clean cut of flavor. No aspect of the beer is overpowering, and the alcohol content is hidden well behind the flavor.

F: Not a very thick beer on the tongue, it spreads over the tongue well and is very pleasant. Not overly carbonated, you can really get a good flavor profile from the beer with the unpleasant fizziness some beers leave behind.

O: Picked this up in a pick-a-six on a whim, and I'm really glad I did. This beer pairs well with meats, like most IPA's (IMO) and the citrus and carbonation being so well balanced show either great brewing chops or great luck- either way I'll be keeping my eye out for this in future!

Medium gold and hazy with a few fingers of white head... Overall impressions suggest candied citrus - lemon and particular and tropical fruits... A fresh-hewn grain backdrop, and some accents of something almost spicy, as in holiday spices, not peppery heat-type spice... Medium-bodied and amply carbonated, moderately sweet, mildly bitter... Good, but something about the taste is a little off for me... Canned 9/4/18...

A: The beer is clear yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that left a thin layer of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of mangos and stone fruit are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, having flavors of stone fruits along with hints of tropical fruits—mangos seem to stand out in particular.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and slightly smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The flavors of this IPA seems to be more concentrated to other beers in the style and seem indicate that lupulin powder was used.

A: Pours a relatively clear pale to medium straw yellow in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and a moderate amount of pale bright yellow + faint pale golden yellow colored highlights. The beer has a finger tall dense sudsy foamy bright white head that reduces to a large patch of thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate to strong aromas of juicy tropical/mango, citrus/grapefruit, citrus/orange, and floral hops over the top of light to moderate aromas of biscuit + honey malts with a moderate amount of honey sweetness. Hints of dank resinous hops.

T: Upfront there are light to moderate flavors of biscuit + honey malts with a moderate amount of honey sweetness. That is followed by slightly stronger than moderate flavors of juicy tropical/mango, citrus/grapefruit, citrus/orange, and floral hops along with light flavors of dank resinous hops. The hops impart a light amount of bitterness which fades away almost instantly leaving lingering citrus + tropical hops flavors.

M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly crisp with a hint of dryness and alcohol warming in the finish.

O: Easy to drink with a very pleasant hop profile and just enough sweetness in the malt body. Enjoyable and I would happily have another of these.
