Notes: Originally known as 2nd Year Annie

Tasting Notes: Our imperial IPA was originally brewed to celebrate our 2nd Anniversary in 2014. We were so taken with her, we decided to keep her on as one of our first bottled beers. A complex IPA that delivers on many lev-els. The simplicity of the grain bill allows the hops to really shine. Tropical fruits and lemon on the nose with a spicy finish that tickles your taste buds.

I really love the tropical fruit flavors in this Imperial IPA! It is well balanced and has an awesome substantial mouth feel. A nearly perfect balance of hops and malt. Easily recommended!

One of my favorite imperial IPAs. Just picked up two 4-packs of freshly canned (July 7, 2016) Annie at the brewery.
Look-pours a 1 inch off-white head. Lots of lacing left behind. Color is a light amber. The 1 pint can looks great too.
Smell-lots of citrus and maybe a little pineapple.
Taste-delicious citrus, orange-pineapple with a little mealtimes to back it up.
Feel-nice medium to full bodied beer with just the right amount of carbonation. Slightly resinous, but pleasantly so. Very easy during beer for the 8.5%ABV.
Overall, this is one of my very favorite imperial IPAs. I am so glad that Good Nature decided to do a canning run, because it is just too much beer to drink quickly when bringing home a whole growler full.

Appearance: Pours a nice light coppery color with an initial cloudiness that dissipates

Smell: Bursting with hop aroma...This beer has an astounding nose on it!

Taste: Good level of hop bitterness upfront with great hop flavor to follow.

Mouthfeel: Good carbonation level creates a nice texture to the beer to compliment the smell and taste.

Overall: Phenomenal Double IPA. This beer has a major similarity with the Heady Topper, which is the benchmark for this type of DIPA (big bodied, heavily hopped). If you're in Central New York, you need to make your way to this Brewery. Great to see this kind of solid hoppy beer being pumped out in CNY.

L: Hazy, almost completely opaque golden orange with a creamy white head. Medium retention; a thin ring always remains, and spotty lacing is left behind.

S: Big citrus; some orange and lemon, stone and tropical fruit; peach, apricot, pineapple; very light/soft cracker/biscuit malt, and slight dank grassiness and spice.

T: Tons of orange, lemon, and honeydew melon upfront, then a wave of blood orange and grapefruit; lots of apricot, peach, mango, and pineapple on the mid-palate; a touch of pine; biscuit/crackery malt backbone, hints of dank grass; smooth vanilla malt flavors, then a lightly dry finish with almost no bitterness, aside from a pop of orange peel and dankness.

F: Really creamy and thick; moderately carbonated, lightly dry with no lingering bitterness or off-flavors.

O: A really good NE IPA! Great to have these guys as a semi-local brewery. Really nice flavorful IPA!

This is an awesome brew. It is a very purely New York beer, giving a good glimpse to the drinker of what upstate and central New York are made of. I bought a case of this on a whim because i couldn't get any other local DIPA's, and this doesn't dissapoint, very happy i sprung for the full case.

A: The beer is clear yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that left a thin layer of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of mangos and stone fruit are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, having flavors of stone fruits along with hints of tropical fruits—mangos seem to stand out in particular.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and slightly smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The flavors of this IPA seems to be more concentrated to other beers in the style and seem indicate that lupulin powder was used.

A: Pours a relatively clear pale to medium straw yellow in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and a moderate amount of pale bright yellow + faint pale golden yellow colored highlights. The beer has a finger tall dense sudsy foamy bright white head that reduces to a large patch of thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate to strong aromas of juicy tropical/mango, citrus/grapefruit, citrus/orange, and floral hops over the top of light to moderate aromas of biscuit + honey malts with a moderate amount of honey sweetness. Hints of dank resinous hops.

T: Upfront there are light to moderate flavors of biscuit + honey malts with a moderate amount of honey sweetness. That is followed by slightly stronger than moderate flavors of juicy tropical/mango, citrus/grapefruit, citrus/orange, and floral hops along with light flavors of dank resinous hops. The hops impart a light amount of bitterness which fades away almost instantly leaving lingering citrus + tropical hops flavors.

M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly crisp with a hint of dryness and alcohol warming in the finish.

O: Easy to drink with a very pleasant hop profile and just enough sweetness in the malt body. Enjoyable and I would happily have another of these.

Dull or dusky orange in color with an ample, stark white head. Citrus and pine mingle temptingly in the nose along with ripe papaya and a suggestion of alcohol heat. Definitely alluring for those who can't seem to get enough hops. On the palate Annie is medium bodied, complex, and still balanced, delivering a thoroughly satisfying drinking experience. The spicy prickle of hops in the finish only makes you want more. Grab two bottles if you can.
