Pours amber with a large white head.
Nose shows a massive lilli-pilli (ha, as if anyone knows what lilli pilli is like) hop note, along with citrus (mainly grapefruit) and a little pine.
Similar flavours, more lilli pilli and woody notes, with some faint biscuity and grainy malt also present.
Could use a little less carbonation, I guess...
Pretty decent attempt, somewhat different from most.

Straw coloured body, small head with little lace.

The aroma is ok, fruity with touches of citrus and apricot, there is wet, leafy quality and a chalky mineral note.

I dislike the flavour, imagine blending an entire grapefruit, skin and all and then carbonating the $hit out of it. It has a rough earthiness underlying the bitter citrus which becomes harshly metallic in the finish.

Light bodied, carbonation seems way to high.

Unpleasant, just not what I look for in an American Pale Ale, it doesn't refresh me like an APA should. Don't get me wrong, this brewery makes much better beers but life is too short to waste on a substandard APA.

On tap at the Brewpub.

A: Served a copper color with a decent head that fades to some lacing.

S: Aroma of citrus, bit of pine and some malt sweetness.

T: Taste of citrus and some malt sweetness with a bit of fruit in the background. Nice bitterness and a clean finish.

F: Fairly medium body and quite smooth.

O: Decent beer, quite solid for the style.

640ml slimline bottle purchased from Slowbeer.

Pours a clear deep golden colour, with a very fine head of white. Carbonation is a bit too intense, leaving such frenetic streaming bubbles that it at some point seems more carbonation than beer. Lacing is patchy, and despite the carbonation, it doesn't seem overly lively. Not bad.

Nose is mildly fruity, with some leafy, slightly scungy hops that give a tired vegetative character. Underlying hints of biscuity malts give a basis, but it flashes weirdly with the hops, meaning it doesn't seem particularly refreshing. Something about it just seems a bit tired or amateurish to me.

Taste is pleasantly mild, and a lot more sophisticated than I expected. Some more of the biscuity malt on the fore, with a pleasant nutty, but bright bitterness on the back. Not much in the way of hop flavour, but the bitterness is restrained and pleasant, and helps make it a pretty refreshing palate. Body has some weight behind it, which ensures that the carbonation, which is still pretty heavy, doesn't dominate too much.

Not a bad drop, but probably only a little above the average. It
doesn't do anything particularly exciting, but it provides a solid
experience. Worth picking up.

I had a 330ml bottle bottle.
Appearance: pours dull dark yellow cloudy colour with good head and lacing.
Aroma: there is some citrus aroma to it and some bread yeasty presence like a Belgian wheat beer which could be due to using Pilsner and Munich malts.
Flavour: aroma follows through with fruitiness on the palate, some grapefruit and stringent bitterness - a bit more than you expect from an APA but not as bitter as an IPA for example which means this may not suit all pale ale lovers. Some banana flavour evident to me which I don't expect in this beer type but it is there for me. It has a full bodied mouthfeel and plenty of carbonation and feels heavy as a drink again compared to many other in its class which makes this beer less sessionable and more like one you will have one or two of then move to something lighter and more refreshing.
Overall: I like the beer, it's complex and not your standard APA given the different flavours and aroma. It's will not be for everyone but I'd buy it again. It is priced at the top end of boutique prices.

Slightly cloudy golden amber colour with no real head. Disappointing.

Lots of grapefruit and orange with hints of passionfruit. Classic sort of aromas. There is a touch of earthiness which is a bit odd but it works for me.

Moderately malty with a sweet pale malt thing going on. Plenty of floral and citrus hop notes. Lots of grapefruit. It isn't spectacular but it packs more punch than a lot of other APAs on the Australian market.

Medium body with moderate to moderately-high carbonation. Good.

A solid APA. While there are some faults with it, it certainly isn't a bad beer.
