I moved to Madrid last year and have been desperate to find a good beer shop, preferably one specializing in Belgians, which are my passion. Little did I know this gem was located very close to me in the Northwestern suburbs of Madrid.

The shop is located inside a small but modern shopping mall. Parking can be a big challenge, as can carrying your haul to wherever you had to park. The shop is fairly small, but is clean, well laid out and orderly. The vast majority of beers seem to be Belgian, mostly well-known but high-quality brands. For example, Corsendonk, De Dolle, Dupont, St Bernardus, and all the Trappists, are represented, including some limited release bottlings, etc. There are a few UK and US craft beers, but not many.

The owner is helpful and pleasant, and speaks good English. The prices are reasonable to inexpensive. I was recently in Belgium on business and I saw several beers in El Cervecero for cheaper prices than I saw in Brussels; others were priced comparably to Belgian prices. This is certainly a pleasant surprise, considering many of the beers are literally not available anywhere else in Spain, as far as I can tell.

I have been in Spain for a year and a half, and this is BY FAR the greatest selection of Belgian and craft brews I've been able to find in this wine-dominated nation. You won't be disappointed.

The best beer store in Spain is hidden in a nondescript suburban mall ten miles outside of Madrid.

A tiny place packed with quality beer from Spain, Europe and the USA. Among the names you'll find here are Emelisse, Pannepeut 2010, tons of De Molen (Rasputin, Hel & Verdoemenis), Spanish up-and-coming crafts like Sagra, Cibeles, Guinea Pigs! and Americans such as Anderson Valley, Flying Dog, Left Hand, Anchor... lots of German and Belgian brews, plus the infamous Westy package (50 euros for you)

I bought a Westy 8 for 12 euros, a 3Floyds/BrewDog bottle and a Lost Abbey/Brewdog collaboration (too pricey at 14 euros). Prices are generally high, but it is only to be expected.

Service was rather indifferent, although the owner (a Dutch guy) is approachable. They also have at least one tap with pours served, bar-style.

El Cervecero is THE place to stock up in craft beer in and around Madrid!

A very welcome addition to the craft beer scene in the Madrid region and a must if one passes by.

Located in a small spot in the old Burgo Centro in the town of Las Rozas, one of the earliest mall-like structures in the country, this small store offers a solid selection of classics with an emphasis on Belgian brews, and some German and English choices. Additionally it keeps an eye on more cutting edge and less know breweries such as Brewdog or De Molen of which it typically has a rich selection, with some rarities. It also pays attention to the slowly emerging Spanish scene with a good representation of current offerings. And occasionally it also has a small representation of US craft imports.

The owner is rather knowledgeable and dedicated, and the pricing while may feel a tad expensive is in line with quality offerings of specialty beer. There are only 4 or 5 quality spots in the region dedicated to selling craft beers with this attention and quality, the Cervecero might well be the most remarkable among them.
