a classic west coast style ipa here, honey colored, bright, and lively in the glass, fresh and locally made, and pretty good overall, but somewhat less distinctive than i like, it tastes like it could have come from anywhere, and as much as i enjoy it, its also kind of forgettable because its almost cookie cutter. it smells like mosaic, and has a little more of a woody and piney taste, some simcoe and centennial also possibly in the mix. the grain base is simple and mostly dry, clean and medium bodied, no crystal depth here at all which i prefer with this sort of hop profile, and there is a crispness here that i really like in an ipa, a more complete fermentation than many of their other beers have so far in my experience with them. there is a juicy freshness about this thats nice, and some oily hop linger on the finish, moderate bitterness is all. subtle pineapple, orange zest, and even elderflower nuance when i look for it, but this is similar to a million others. good, but youve definitely had it before, if you know what i mean. i liked their citra smash ipa better, even though those flavors are real familiar too, but overall they seem to be doing well with the hoppy stuff in here.

Fairly clear golden amber with a coarse bubbled foamy head. Nice coverage and lacing.

Pretty basic grapefruit and pine aromas.

Flavor follows with a bit of buttered bread and some herbal finish.

Much more bitter than its ibu's would indicate, but overall pretty smooth with moderate carbonated and a medium body.

Overall, a decent classic IPA. Love the bitter bite. Cheers.

12 oz can from Boise in Twin Falls Idaho.
This is a mildly bitter, relatively malty IPA. It has a nicely carbonated medium-full body. The hops lend fruity, herbal and grassy notes to the toffee and bread from the grains.
Overall: off-style a bit but much enjoyed.

Type: 12-oz. can
Glass: Clear hotel shaker glass
From: Albertsons in Boise, Idaho
Price: $9.49 for a 6-pack

Misc.: No canned on date

Picked this up after making a real trip to Bier:Thirty. Picked it up for some hotel drinking that actually never happened. Had two of these before the review and did not care for them, first giving it a 3.25 on Untappd and later knocking it down to a 3.00.

Poured a gold-to-amber cloudy color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy white head. A few bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Excellent sporadic spiderweb lacing. Outstanding retention. (Sight - 3.75)

Smelled soapy Mosaic, dish soap, Citra, pine, gingerbread (somehow), spoiled fruit and lime zest. (Smell - 3.25)

Taste followed the nose for the most part. Seemed to be dry hopped. Mosaic, Citra, dish soap, floral, grass, hay, bread, spoiled fruit, lime, lemon, hints of grapefruit rind and light unknown spicy hop (Chinook or Simcoe?). (Taste - 3.00)

Light body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt finish. (Feel - 2.50)

This is just not a good beer at all. I tried to be nice and probably did with the ratings. Seems very unfinished. (Overall - 3.00)

Very pale, unfiltered by the looks of it. The aroma is the best part, very citrusy and bright, maybe not as vegetative as some, though. I've had this one many times and the flavor just has rarely done it for me. Fairly bitter without having an explosion of hops upfront. GRapefruit and pine are there...there's just an astringency to it that isn't there in many of my favorite IPA's. Good with food, though. I love that bitterness if I'm having a burger. Mouthfeel is fine, bounces on the tongue and relatively crisp. Overall a respectable IPA that I have had numerous times. but there are many I would grab first.

Bomber from Albertson’s. Light amber, slightly hazy with nice creamy head. Aroma of grapefruit, taste is more grapefruit. That’s about it, seems like pure Citra hops. Nice tasting and easy to drink.

Pours from a can a hazy orange color with great retention. Juicy overripe fruit and the bitterness is surprisingly blistering and very long lasting. Has a nice spicy finish. Very good stuff!
