Bomber thanks to Toby. Pours a deep brown color with a medium beige head. A sweet dry earthy nose with some berries and chocolates. A very nice flavor: rich smoke, chocolate, bitter dark chocolates, toasted malts, earthy. Nice. I drank a big ole glass of this.

Cannot find ANYTHING about this beer on the interwebs, so everything is based solely on the label and my feeble palate.

Picked up the 22 at the COOP tonight for ~$9... pricey, but hopefully worth it. Pours with a nice dark tan head that leaves spots of sticky lacing atop a dark dark walnut brew that only hints of ruby at the stem end of my glass.

Nose is much more "roasty" than "malty"... Not exactly a good thing for a Big Ole Scotch ale, but it isn't off putting, just slightly out of style. minor ale fruitiness seems about right.. light roasty maltiness is a big player... I would expect more of a kettle caramel note and more big toasty elements.

The palate is a little bit better.. but there is something that now translates into coffee (in my mind's palate).. better malt profile, but still is lacking the malt complexities expected in such a big Scotch ale.. Not enough "caramel", if that makes sense... I think it would tie things together... The finish is long and roasty.. With warmth, I was hoping for more blooming Scottish ale yeast fruitiness but it never showed up. Blind, I would call this a "light porter"... but I see the bones of a much better beer.

Body is medium/full with a good small bubble carbonation that helps create a creamy mouthfeel.

This on the verge of being pretty damn good... dial in the malt complexities a bit more and it is a big winner.
