A long awaited update for the food:

They have really hit their stride the last year or so. The farm to table restaurant is a little played out now, but these guys do it right. On top of which, have actually greatly improved their menu. Like the beer, always rotating. Fried risotto and veggies. An amazing amount of flavor and textures. Lamb shoulder, one of the best pork chops in the city. A top 5 burger in Houston as well.

The beer selection is still good, just not as extensive as it was since D&T opened. I can't ever complain with Yellow Rose or Live Oak Hefe though. Oh yeah, and some Ola Duhb's on tap as well. Still one of my favorite bars, and over the last year, has become one of my favorite restaurants as well.

Original review 11/07/11

This is a great coffee house/beer/wine/spirit bar. They basically do it all. A nice open room of blue painted bricks as you walk in. Some sofas up front, booths off to the side, and some tables scatter about. A room off to the left for more of a private area. The wood bar is directly in the back. The bar back looks just amazing. Some nice art work on the wall with some other eclectic stuff, even an old periodic table of the elements in German, and various books about Darwin scattered about. Low music is playing, and no TV's. This is a really relaxing and welcoming atmosphere.

The service is good, quick, and friendly. They are knowledgeable about the beers as well as the rest of what they offer. The bartenders are well organized and on top of everything. Food is minimal. There is a bar menu that you can make a mixed meat and cheese plate, and a pretty kick ass burger (awesome). The rest of the food is simple and light with sandwiches and soups. Certainly good and well made, I usually go for a bit hardier meal when I am out though. I believe the menu rotates with the seasons as well.

On to the beer! An all around great selection of 12 taps that always rotates. Jubelale (on nitro), 512 Pecan Porter, Three, and Wit. Real Ale Morgul and WT3F (only place in Houston I have seen carry that). A handful of Live Oak, Karback, and some Stone all rotate in and out. Some Trappist/other quality Belgian beers make it into the mix as well as Boulevard Smokestack offerings on occasion. They also have a Sour Sunday. A special on sour beers and cocktails. One of the best smaller selections I have seen in Texas, and the quality can't be beat. All fresh as can be, correct temps, and glassware.

I can't believe I did not find this place sooner, or here anything about it. Just a great place that I feel comfortable enough to sit and relax all day with an amazing selection. Hard to beat that.
