Continuing today's West Loop tour, on a dreary wet and gray Wednesday.

There was plenty of parking on the side of the building, which is deceptively small from the front, but is in fact very deep with lots of square footage. There's a front and side entrance, I was greeted when I came in and offered help right away. The staff was knowledge and helpful when I asked about home kegging equipment and building a keezer. They offer free Intelligentsia coffee and also sell beans to go. Browsing the book section, they stocked my favorite one, Wild Brews. Seemed to be well stocked on equipment and ingredients. They mentioned the next home brewing class would be in early March.

Overall a solid homebrew shop, leagues above their old space on Besly Ct.

This place definitely looks a lot bigger than the last place. It has a large assortment of malts, hops, yeast (in fridge) and beer making equipment. The service is reliable and knowledgeable, just like the original location. I'll probably switch my internet brew buying to the local shop, it might be a bit pricier, but I know I can rely on their expertise for guidance. Which, in the end, is what really matters. It's not always about saving a few bucks. The aisles are wide and everything is displayed in a clean and easily accessible manner.

Visited the new Brew & Grow in the West Loop the other day. Very nice store - shiny and new. It looks and feels just like the store up north off of Addison, and slightly bigger (I think). The inventory of grain should satisfy just about all beginner to moderately experienced h-brewers. They have a mill as well.

The 2 dudes working the floor and register were super cool and helpful and let me sample some of the homebrew they had on tap.

The prices might be a little higher than your home brew shop outside the city - but I'm not complaining. The rent there can't be cheap. I'm just stoked to have a local shop blocks away from my house and that I'm no longer taking the Blue Line up to Addison to the store up north. I'll probably start shifting my purchases here away from on-line shops as long as the staff remains welcoming.
