Head was a little fizzle, less than a finger of thin foam. Lace was a very thin ring with little cling. Color is a 4 on the SRM beer color chart. This beer is much the same as Carib, maybe a little more zing. Smell was scents of corn, wheat, and veggies. Taste was a little sharp and refreshing, with tastes of corn, cereal grains, and a touch of citrus. A very bland as it flowed over my tongue and soft palate. In the hot sun watching the waves slide into the beach, this beer was just fine, but I would not go out of my way to buy it other than in the islands of the Caribbean.

I bought a 6 pack at the Beer Store in Ontario Canada Stag lager but I noticed the ABV on my bottles were 5.2%
The bottles were 275ml .
Not bad average drinking lager beer
Ice cold out of the bottle is best for this type of beer kinda like a Corona.
Overall it's ok
Easy to drink.
Cheers

L- Pale straw, clear, pours with thin white head, already receded to a partial patch.
S- Popped the cap and there was a huge waft of 'something West Indian and herbal' from the bottle. That rapidly calms down when in the glass but it was striking. Now I just get mild grains and some hoppiness.
T- Mild, thin, some dryness in the tail. The dryness has more of a soda-water feel than hopping.
F- Highly carbonated in the mouth, too much in my view. Lacks body.
O- It might be ideal, in being refreshing, on a scorching day in Trinidad but less so in London/UK. It really lacks any character. The lable indicates 5.2% ABV, but I get nil sense of the presence of alcohol in it.
BB: 02/20 275ml bottle. Bought from a Sainsbury megastore in London, IIRC £1.35.

275 mL green bottle from a six-pack purchased at The Beer Store; best by Nov 2018 and served well chilled. Listed at 5.2%, consumed last week and reviewed from notes.

Pours clear pale gold in colour, with one finger of foamy white head quickly losing cohesion. Within ninety seconds, only a soapy collar remains - no cap to speak of, nor any lacing. Looks mediocre to me, but what was I expecting? Well... I suppose I was expecting the smell of skunk, which this one delivers in spades - but I'm also getting notes of cereal grain sweetness, corn husk, straw and weedy hops.

It tastes fine for what it is. Corny cereal grain grittiness and pale barley malt sweetness are the main features, interrupted only towards the back end by weedy, grassy hay hop notes. Light in body, but not thin, with lively carbonation levels that prickle and bite at the surface of the palate, apropos for the style. Pretty bland, but highly drinkable, which is about what I'd expect from a Caribbean macro lager.

Final Grade: 2.94, a C grade. Stag Lager is nothing to write home about, but I figure it'd still be a serviceable and refreshing selection at a beach resort in the Caribbean. Of course, if you're stuck at one of those, there probably isn't a wide range of beers to pick from in the first place, which makes it a 'take it or leave it' proposition. I'd take it, I guess, but I have a feeling I'd get sick of drinking these after a day or two. On the beach is one thing, but I see no sense in paying import prices for such a mediocre product - tick this one if you must, but don't expect much.

Deep straw (3) pour with white head; decent cap retention; excellent clarity; no real lace; lite cornbread nose. Light, semi sweet corny taste. Thin watery feel; moderate carbonation. Ok for an island lager.

It could be the green bottle, but to me this tasted like a knock off of a European premium lager with a little more adjunct. Super pale yellow, smells like malt and corn with some hops, tastes like a cheap Heineken and just slightly metallic. Crisp finish with a little bitter aftertaste. Not great, but cheap at the beach bar.
