This place is a nice little establishment, offering one of the better beer selections in town, but by no means the best beer selection in town. Imbibe or American Deli on Stockdale Hwy and Allen Rd. (which isn't even listed for review on BA) definitely have the best selection in town. The atmostphere is nice just cause it is small and it's always one of two men working there--both usually nice. But overall, they have lost favor with me because their prices are higher than anywhere else, their selection is not very vast (although they do offer Kern River brews and a number of other good California/West Coast brews), and the guys who work there don't really seem to know all that much about the beer. I like someone who can tell me intricate details about specific beers. And for that, Imbibe is much better and has a better selection. Aside from beer, they offer a small selection of wine and spirits.

Price gouging, everything is way more expensive than should be.

the guy who works there is an awful person. told him one of his beers was past it's prominently labeled "enjoy by.." date and asked if he would sell it for less.

proceeded to insult me, poke fun at my age, and tell me how he's been in the business a long time. oh really? what business is that, selling overpriced "expired" beer to drunk fools in Bakersfield?

Well hopefully with enough people's help we can make sure he is no longer in this business tomorrow. do not shop here unless you like supporting bad people.

Atmosphere- Store was a bit cluttered and outdated. Only added atmosphere was that they were watching American Idol behind the counter. Meh.

Quality- As far as the selection I was left wanting. They had the Stone Brewing 6 pack line up, some Samuel Smith and Firestone, but I was looking something a bit different.

Service- Nothing bad or good to say. About what you expect from an average a convenience store.

Selection- Selection was minimal nothing eye popping, and as small as the selection was it was still the best I found in Bakersfield.

Value- What they did have was a couple dollars that I'm use to seeing.

This is a liquor store there is no food sold at this establishment. They offer various wines and spirits. The beer selection here range from your typical BMC to beers from Kern River Brewing, Deschutes Brewery, Stone, Flyng Dog, Alaskan Beer Company, Sierra Nevada, Firestone Walker, North Coast Brewing, Rogue etc. The selection is small but the prices are mostly fair. The service is excellent. There is usually only one person working the counter both gentlemen are very nice and helpful. This is one of the best beer stores in the city.
