Style: Milk / Sweet Stout

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 6.50%

Notes / Commercial Description:
What secrets and mysteries lie within our deceptively smooth nitro milk stout?

Dark and ominous, this medium bodied brew has interwoven flavors of roasted malt character and creamy sweetness with notes of cocoa, semi-sweet chocolate and roasted coffee. For those who seek truer flavor in a complex world.

Pours very dark with no light passing through. Light caramel colored head on top that fades away quickly. All I can smell is roasted malts that are watered down. Taste wasn't sweet, tasted like how it smelled.

12oz can. The aroma and taste are both dominated by bittersweet chocolate notes and some roasted coffee flavors. The mouthfeel is light-medium bodied with a good amount of carbonation. Overall, Maven is a solid milk stout.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a black color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of chocolate, roasted malts. Taste is roasted malts, subtle chocolate and milk, light hops are present. Feels creamy in the mouth and overall is an easy drinking and enjoyable beer.

Poured from a 12 oz can, into a Cigar City snifter.

Thick creamy head,tan/khaki in color, with small bubbles.Dark black in color, with no light coming through the glass.Light carbonation.

The nose is dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and roasted malts.I'm getting lots of cocoa nibs.

The palate is dark chocolate, cocoa, sweet malts, and a little bit of roasted coffee.Once again,I am getting alot of cocoa nibs.

The body is medium, with a slight creaminess to it.The finish is wet,and smooth.

This is a pretty good stout, very well blended. Not too much chocolate, nice cocoa presence.Very sweet taste.I would definitely drink this one again.

Poured from 12 oz can into snifter. Nice tawny head and good lacing. Aroma is on the slight side, quite subtle dark chocolate and malt. Taste is also understated. Very much a milk stout lacking the coffee and chocolate depth of an Imperial Stout. Nice mouth body, carbonation is pleasant, some aftertaste. A nice beer.
