Not too busy on a Saturday afternoon but the few folks that were here were all hipsters making me feel a touch out of place. Decent music at a reasonable volume but at a volume where it was easy to have a conversation. Had a bit of an old school pub feel to it.

Beers were well poured, at a proper temperature, and with a reasonable amount of head but I only saw pint glasses in use.

Service was friendly enough but a little slow and they did not seem to know what beers they had on tap - the chalkboard and tap handles were not in sync and there seemed to be some general confusion.

12 taps of mostly regional selections but nothing that really wowed me.

Great beer, cool ambiance. Tried the fish and chips and wasn't impressed. Fish was soggy. Go for the beer and conversation but eat somewhere else.

Four Pegs is a cool place. It's in one of my favorite Louisville neighborhoods, Germantown. The sign on the front of the building calls it a "Beer Lounge and Social Eatery". If this is their mission statement, it is off to a good start.

When you walk in you will notice a nice size bar with about a dozen tables and booth in which to sit. We came with a group of 5 which included two children 15 and 11. The place is not necessarily accommodating to groups or 5 or more nor for children. However, the staff was accommodating just the same and we all felt welcome. The atmosphere is otherwise comfortable and with the fresh paint and other minor upgrades completed since the conversion from Germantown Pub, the place feels very nice and cozy.

The only wait staff was a bartender. You have to order at the bar. With one bartender for the 20 or so people there (including those of us at tables) service was slow at best. The bartender did not write things down and as a result he mis-ordered one or our items and we never received another. He was a nice guy, but, I got the impression that he thought he was better than he really was. The staff said they would comp the mis order. However, when I got the check, it was not itemized so I have to go on faith that this happened.

Now to the important stuff. The beer list consists of 12 taps. All craft and stuff you don't find just anywhere, no bottle list, two bourbons and four wines. Thus, my low rating for selection.

The food was awesome. The waffle chicken sandwich is sure to be a local legend in the very near future. We also had the fish and chips, hamburger (served with a fried green tomato on it) and the quesadilla. Everyone was very happy with the food and with an $8 price tag that included fries; I think we got a good deal.

We will be back. I hope they improve their service level and their variety as I think the food is so good, I would hate to lose such a promising addition to the beer scene here in Louisville.

This new establishment is in Germantown (an abundance of hipsters). It's cozy and clean. Twelve taps of rotating draft, but there are no local beers here. No distilled liquors nor bottled beer. Unobtrusive music and a beautiful dark wood bar gave the place a warm feel.

The menu is house made pub grub. Hand cut french fries accompany beer battered fish, chicken wraps, meat and veggie burgers, etc. I had the veggie burger and it was good, however, lettuce, tomato and cheese would have made it very good! (this didn't seem to be an option). Most entrees were about $8.

Fried green tomatoes, hummus and chips, and beer cheese and chips were the appetizers $3.50 - $4.50.

The beer list was stout and porter heavy the evening I went. Founders Porter, Old Rasputin on nitro, FFF Pride and Joy, Aventinus, Left Hand Fade to black, Stone Sublimely Self Righteous, Tripel Karmeliet, Flying Dog Imperial Gonzo Porter, etc. The prices seem about standard, $4.50 - 9.00.

The food we ordered was fresh, hot, and delivered to our tables quickly. Service was friendly. I will be going back.
