i thought for sure i had reviewed this one before, its one of their more popular offerings and a real nice and easy drinking hefeweizen, the kind thats citrusy and refreshing and creamy, not one of the heavy overly wheaty and phenolic ones, i love the crispness for a yeast forward beer, i like the lighter body, and think they really have something here, maybe the best of the beers in their everyday lineup for my money. it does lean a touch orange in color, but its neither sweet nor weighty despite the look, uniformly hazy throughout and with an average white head on it, tiny bubbles and good retention. the nose is great, i love the familiar banana note to it, but its cleaner than many, with nice earthy minerality, and the high quality grain is easily appreciated. subtle slate, lemongrass, and tangerine to me, faintly soapy but it works in here, fresh to me. the flavor follows, herbal up front with some obvious citrus on the back end, less spicy seeming than some but still hinting at clove and dried apples without being autumnal, orange and lemon for sure, light white pepper as it warms, tons of earthy grain but not super starchy, and the high carbonation really keeps this moving. soft feeling, quick finishing for the style, really drinkable and definitely a four season beer. maybe not quite in the top echelon of american made hefeweizen, but its right there hanging close behind...

12oz can. Poured out a cloudy, golden yellow color with a good-sized, white head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of banana, clove, bubblegum and spices. It had a nice cracked wheat flavor with clove, pepper and yeastiness.

Minor head with only the most minute of spots for lace. Dirty amber color. Cloudy
Soft banana and clove nose. Really good wheat presence as well.
Pale malt start but the wheat kicks in nicely with all of the typical expectations of banana and clove. Easy to drink hefe with a higher carbonation level than the the typical hefeweizens.

On tap at Humpy’s. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a nice looking hazy golden orange to yellow color with a thin white slightly foamy head. It dissipated at a nice pace leaving some light lacing here and there. The smell had a good spicy clove running into the banana esters and combining nicely. The taste copied the smell and had a nice refreshing sweet banana aftertaste leading to the same sort of finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. It had the appropriate carbonation to it. Overall, I say this was a pretty good hefeweizen, easy drinking.

Light bodied, crisp and refreshing in the mouth. Light blonde color, not much revealed in the aroma but it is a flavor explosion in your mouth. Very good beer.
