Here's a pickup from the rare Alaskan layover.
Pours decently golden, mostly clear, big 1" white head. The aroma is that smattering of C hop grapefruit rind and aspirin kind of bitterness vibe in the nose. There was also a little hit of that caramel you get in the real fresh SNPA bottles. Not as good as the appearance, but hey, its familiar to millions (as I listen to Oasis to Champagne Supernova live while doing this review up; if that don't make sense, that is the name of a double album of theirs).
Anyhoo, the taste comes off maltier than the appearance, they got that caramel thing going without an amber color hue to the beer. It still drops a boatload of that grapefruit rind, but now there is some springtime in Alaska, its not 40 below, but it is kind of a cold pine drop feel. Seems close to 70 ibu.
These are plenty drinkable, they come off as that supermarket tier ipa, just not sure on the price. Their 6 pack cardboard was a weird shaped configuration too.

16oz can. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, off-white head of bubbly foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of orange, grapefruit, pine and toasted caramel. Sweet orange taste with grapefruit, some pineapple and toasted caramel. Nice bitter bite.

Undated can into pint glass. Pours a hazy dark gold with a brief off-white head. Initial impression is pine, citrus, a slight dankness, and a bit of floral character. Mouthfeel is medium. Finish is bitter but not objectionably so.

Dirty gold color with a chill haze. Lasting, thick head which leaves chunky rings of lace on the glass.
Attractive floral hop aroma. Light earthiness with a bit of cut grass.
Light toasted malt as the base. The hop is strong but not overwhelming. The body leans to the rich but the carbonation is also high. Bitter finish with a long-lasting aftertaste. Overall, a very good example of an American IPA.

On tap at Humpy’s. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a nice looking hazy orange to brown color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some light lacing roaming here and there. The smell had a good sticky citrus bitterness to it. Light piney - ness enters in as it warmed. The taste was basically the same as the smell. Light sweet piney aftertaste lead to a dry sweet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was good for me and for the style. Overall, I say this was a pretty good AIPA that I could do again.

lots to love about this one for me. the can is awesome, with the whole top removed by the pull tab, i think thats a great way to drink a beer like this. the beer is hoppy in a subtle sort of way, i mean its big on flavor, but there is a wonderful dryness, freshness, and sort of vanishing act in the finish that is really unique. i almost taste the water, its purity, mineral content, and crispness, and that interacts with the hops in a cool way. they are pungent and bitter and piney up front, but descend into the finish, gone really abruptly. lighter malt base has a slight toasted element to it but it also very clean, and there is a juicy quality to the hops in the middle that goes great with it. this is an absolute crusher of an ipa though for me, being so dry and mild as they go, it drinks amazingly satisfyingly, but also sort of delicately too. i have never really experienced this trajectory in an ipa before, and i really liked it. huge thanks to my buddy for bringing down so many cool alaska beers with him to colorado on his trip. this was one of my favorites of the lot so far! memorable ipa for me.

Hazed bronze gold color with a thin finger of airy white head. Dank, resiny aroma with pine and citrus notes. More muted flavor that's otherwise largely the same. Slightly bitter aftertaste. Heavy mouthfeel. Nothing out of this world, but decent enough.

Orangey amber body. Medium opacity. Decent little rusty off cream head that settles into halfway soapy bubbbbllbels.
As soon as I pop off hte top of the can (!) an incredible aroma of sweet and fruity hops. Dank and piney underneath. Some almost honeysuckle nectar sweetness weaves through as well.
Pine and floral sweet jump out immediately. Dank and nectar together. Medium thickness and carbonation that brings out the other characteristics without really making itself noticeable/distracting. I definitely dig it

Overall, this is a solid IPA. It has a really nice hop profile. However, it is just a little to malt forward for my tastes. I would like to try it on draft vs cans. That being said, the full pop top cans are awesome.

Appearance: One of the better bubble shows I have witnessed, with a slow volcanic build-up of the head; the liquid is clear and amber colored and the foam swathes the glass
Smell: Dank aromatics, with a piney edge; biscuity malt underneath
Taste: The biscuit supports the dank, piney flavor; the hops bring a resinous edge; the finish is nicely balanced
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: Normally I like my IPAs somewhat unbalanced, with the hops overwhelming the malts but this beer makes the case that a balanced IPA can be a mighty fine drinker, too
Thanks, itracy63, for the opportunity
