Pours a clear ruby brown with a thin frothy tan head. Leaves spotty lacing and a thin ring of head the clings the glass as it goes down. Aromas are mild and malt centered, caramel, some roasted malts and dark chocolate come through mildly. Malt centered flavors as well, lots of caramel, toffee, and brown sugar. I taste hints of darker fruits, fig or raisin, a touch of smoke and vanilla in the finish. Nice and malty, the smoke in the finish rounds out the flavor nicely however the body is a bit thin. A solid beer from the new guys on the block in Mad town, looking forward to see what else they come up with.

Draft at Vintage, review from quickly written notes.

Dark brown with a glint of ruby when held to the dim lights of the aquarium behind the bar. A convex dome of robust tan foam rises above the rim of the glass. It has a creamy texture, and leaves behind plenty of lace as it subsides, and a graduated ring of foam melds seamlessly into the surface skim.

Aroma and taste were similar, toasted grains, honey graham cracker, pure maple syrup, and grain husks. Mellow feel, medium bodied, with a very light sweetness at first, moving into a dry and lightly bitter finish. A purely sessionable brown ale that was flavorful enough to keep things interesting. Recommended.
