Put simply, Guenther's is exactly what southern Maryland needed in terms of a wine/beer/spirits store. Bear in mind, I'm going strictly by their beer selection.

The selection is several cuts above what you'll find in the immediate vicinity. If you're used to living in Cali, it'll probably disappoint a bit, but by the area's standards, it's fantastic. Ayinger (no Celebrator Dopplebock, sadly :(), Erdinger, Oskar Blues, Dogfish Head, Rochefort (!), Ommegang, Troegs, Allagash, Stone, Victory, and others are very well represented there (and yes, they do offer BMC, at seemingly better prices than other areas, too).

The service itself was top notch...the lady running the cashier is extremely personable and is willing to go the extra mile for you. I think the price tags could be updated a bit better, but that's just niggling, really.

The prices are no worse than other liquor places in the area, in fact, I would say a little better for the most part (seriously, a 550ml bottle of Samuel Smith impy stout for $3.99 on sale?!) While a few of the imports are a tad high, I really can't complain about the prices in the area.

If you're looking for craft beer goodness, go here. If you're looking for a 12'er of Bud...well, still go here, their selection of macros is really good too. Like I said, this is exactly what Leonardtown needed.

Thumbs way up for this place.

I was impressed by the selection of beer I found here. It is rivaled only by International Beverage in Lexington Park. The prices are fair. They have A LOT of individual bottles, so you don't have to commit to a 4 or 6 pack. They also have a small sit down area, where you can have a beer or a bite to eat. I didn't look at the menu or see what types of beer they were selling there though. It is worth the 20 minute drive for me!
