This place is fine. The decor is fun. The piped in music is pretty decent. The Mexican food is subpar, but it's perfectly edible. They've got a large selection of IPAs on draft, as well as a smattering of other styles. Victory, Troegs, Bells seem like staples here. Nothing too rare for the tickers, but you won't go thirsty. You can get growler fills, too, but I never have.
I used to go to the one in University City way back when. That one was super loud with a younger, frat-like crowd. I'd always be cranky until I got some drinks in me, but kept going back for the excellent late-night happy hour prices. The Willow Grove location is more chill.

Impressive takeout beer selection. Very good rotating selection of beers on tap. Serves all beer above 9 abv in a 12 oz glass. Decor is neat definitely plenty to look at. Was disappointed by the service on almost every occasion visiting however which is really disappointing.

I love this place.
They have a great selection of crafts including a rotating special of 22 oz drafts for $5 that goes "until the kegs run dry". Not long ago they had the exclusive Mad Mojo from Boulder Creek that was excellent AND an amazing value. Yep, an over-sized 7% ABV IPA for five bucks. Tough to beat.
They also have a good selection of beer to go, including a "build your own" six-pack option for $14 that includes most of their bottled selection. Last time I opted to grab a sixer to go, I got two Dogfish 90 Minutes and two Laugunitas Maximus along with a couple of seasonals.
The food is fresh TexMex, best in the area. The decor is awesome and the atmosphere is one part sportsbar, two parts party.
All in all, this is one of my favorite places to go on a Saturday night or weekend afternoon.

I love this place. I've been here a ton of times and keep coming back. The draft beer selection rotates every few weeks with special selections coming in here and there. Beer prices vary substantially but good deals can be had on the featured beers. The food is tex-mex presented in a menu strewn with pop-culture references. I've never had a bad waiter or waitress, and in general the service is good. I bought a party of 12 people here once and was particularly impressed at how well it was handled. The prices are a little steep for what you get at times, but the burritos are MASSIVE. Most of the time I'll pack half of it and eat it for another meal. They will send you a text message when your table is ready so feel free to go wander wherever. Usually the time estimates are much higher than the amount of time it actually takes.
Overall Mad Mex is one of my favorites for the combination of food that I like, interesting beer selection, and convenience. I suggest parking out back if you're there at a busy time, it gets a little chaotic.

Stopped in here for dinner Friday night not knowing the beer situation. I figured the best I could get in terms of beer on the list was a Negra Modelo but I was surely mistaken. Lots of craft beer on draft as well as in bottles. When I was there they had Founders Imperial Stout on tap and a few over high ABV beers. I only got beer on draft so I don't know what the prices are like for bottles but a lot of the beers tend to be $1 per ABV. Although if you look at the board carefully you can find some good deals.
It is very crowded and the parking lot is rather small but this is the best beer selection in Willow Grove that was much needed.

Stopped by here with oglmcdgl to drink some beer, what else.
Mad Mex is tucked inside a strip mall on a semi busy road in Willow Grove. A nice snazzy exterior that's brand new from what I hear.
Inside, a big room with a dining area to the right and straight ahead. To the left is the bar area which is also spacious and colorful, with a few couple booths. The decor is packed with art, a mural that is packed with 'stuff'. Alot went into this. The dining areas are a bit more relaxed with a more plain wood look. The barstools are way to close together, especially if everybody is using their elbows eating tacos and such.
The beer list is huge on the wall, giant chalkboard type slates telling the 20 or so taps that are quite pricy, if Im being honest here. There are some reasonably priced beers and there are $9.50 pints of DFH 90 minute, be careful what you order. There is also a nice hsppy hour menu as well.
A nice selection with few crappy beers on tap. I saw Yuengling and thats OK, not alot of BMC on the list which is sweet. A lot of craft, some local stuff and some other stuff and some west coast stuff, you get the picture. The lady bartenderesses are very hot and polite.
I have to say the music selection was off the chain. Im not sure if it's piped in from some corporate station or the managers picks but it was mostly subdued hip hop that's not loud consisting of J-Dilla, Old Vintage ATCQ, some instrumental funk and no top 40 stuff. This was 5:00pm on a Monday so it's quite refreshing to hear.
I hear the food is the bomb and it looked quite delicious, but I can't comment on it. I'll be back sometime when im in the area in a pinch.
