This is a pretty good beer that has a very West Coast quality overall, but which is better than many run-of-the-mill beers. It is somewhat reminiscent of beers like Lagunitas Lucky 13 if not quite as good.
Deep red amber, it has a very large tan head slowly shrinking to thin foamy top and a few weak wisps of lace.
Aroma is caramelised pine bark, bread crust, orange juice and rind.
Taste is alcoholic orange, bitter pine and orange ring, raisin, hint of bread crust throughout, mostly on the spicy-sweet side except that there is some more spicy bitterness in the aftertaste. It's pretty good and solid with a nice, well-rounded feel, if a bit sweet, a bit one-dimensional. It's a lot like what others would call a "red ale" rather than an IPA , which is what the label says, with the darker, caramelised quality, but then it fits IPA reasonably well, too.

22 oz bottle poured into a room temperature Mason jar in a downtown taco shop--perfect! An aggressive pour produces a two finger tan head which eventually resolves down too normal lacing. Nice crystal clear honey amber color. Aroma is subtle but lovely--malt, toffee and floral hops. Flavor is on the mold, balanced side, nothing like an aggressive IPA. It's has malt, caramel, mild bitterness from floral hops, not citrus bite. Nicely balanced, refined, does not punch you in the face. A hint of fruit, apricots. Moderate hops finish. I like this one more Andorra as I drink it. I wasn't impressed initially. Mouthfeel is medium, a little foamy, but not too much. Overall this is a very good golden ale, not what I expect in an IPA, but an enjoyable experience that I will want to revisit.

Want to give this one as much love as I can. My buddy gave me one, knowing it was fresh. He knows it needs to be fresh if Im gonna give it a fair review. So, it is fresh, but still subpar. Not a great beer. It is a drinkable beer, I will give Riley's that. I just can't see myself telling customers or people in my "beer circle" to seek out their beers. You need to keep up with the competition here on the west coast.

Poured from a bomber into my Deschutes tulip...
A - Pours a hazy ruby red color, with a dense tan foamy head that leaves behind a lot of lacing. The color looks more like an amber than any other IPA I've ever had.
S - The smell is crusty bread and caramel malts, with some slight citrus hop notes.
T/M - The taste matches the aroma fairly closely. The front gives way to the bready, caramel malts with some hop bitterness in the aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, slightly over carbonated for my taste.
O - Well it doesn't look like an IPA, and honestly doesn't really taste like one. This resembles a hoppy red or amber ale. This isn't a bad beer, but reviewing it based on what it claims to be, it falls very short. Once again descent beer, but not an IPA.

Agree with previous reviews that this brew does not come across as an IPA. It is sweet pretty much front to back, with not much hop presence. Taste is of malt and sweet raisins. Not something i ever seek out. The brew is one of several sent from a bro in central cali. Glad i got to try, but would not ever drink again.
