Recently bottled, consumed on 4/17 from a Sweetwater Belgian Tulip. Reviewed from notes.

A - Crystal clear, straw body with a smallish head that surprisingly left great lacing.

S - Great citrus medley hop notes.

T - Pungent bitterness, great grapefruit notes peak through as well, but a bit of sweetness as it warms.

M - Medium bodied, with a sticky resinous quality.

O - A great DIPA, best Dank Tank in a while.

This is a better than average beer, but I have had better. In fact maybe that is what marred my opinion of this one. I drank an Enjoy by 4/20/14 earlier. This is not a bad beer, its just not excellent.

Appearance: Lighter straw colored. Not as much red in this one, more a pure golden straw colored.

Smell: Not as much as others, it smelled good, but was not overpowering and maybe where I lost some interest. It almost smells of a faint pinesol or cleaning liquid. Thats about all I get. Maybe its the Citra hops.

Taste: Much more there than in the smell. A good beer, but Sweetwater is at this point a slightly above average brewery in my opinion. On the better side of "gateway" craft beers. But not excellent. Overall a very accessible DIPA.

Overall: Nice beer for the day.

Poured into a pint glass out of a 22oz bomber.

Pours a clear medium gold with a fluffy one finger white head. The head fades away slowly leaving an abundance of lacing on the sides of the glass.

The aroma on this beer is just amazing. Tons of juicy citrus that is mouth watering. Loads of tropical fruit with just enough earthy dankness to make it interesting. A tiny bit of caramel malt is in the background.

The flavor is just a wonderful continuation of the aroma. A juicy, tropical, citrus bomb with a big shot of dankness. There is also a quick shot of alcohol that is just enough to remind you that this is a pretty potent brew. Bitterness is fairly high but it is not overwhelming. Maltiness is also on the light side with just a hint of biscuit and caramel. Mouthfeel is a little bit sweet but it is held in check.

Overall, this is a terrific brew and one that I wish was more readily available. I would buy loads of it.

This beer was great. Those citra hops are very flavorful. Pretty sweet smell off the bat, got a lot of citrus. Served in a pint glass. Taste was great, very similar to the smell, sweet citrusy and very hoppy. The bitterness at the end was perfect. Overall I loved this beer, i was a big fan of sweetwater's regular IPA and this one was even better. Can't wait til they get it on tap

22oz bottle from Bullocks (Woodstock, GA). 5.99. No bottling date but this just hit shelves last week. Served in a Sweetwater snifter.

Pours brilliant orange gold with almost two fingers of white head. A hazy layer lingers throughout and deposits some sizeable sheets of lace.

Pleasing fruity nose. Oranges, peach, melon and a hint of sweet malt. Quite nice.

Flavors are in line with the nose. Mandarins, peach, cantalope, mild grapefruit, faint berries and sugar cookies with very little booze. The hops dominate and are refreshingly fruity. Very easy to drink.

Slightly resinous, medium body with soft but present carbonation. The finish it a little more bitter with citrus peel, a hint of pepper and some more of that cookie-like malt.

For my tastes this is the best Dank Tank to come along since Fresh Sticky Nugs. A slightly different hop blend from Sweetwater with a subtle sweet malt base. This will be a repeat purchase for sure. I have yet to see a Dank Tank return for a second round so get it while it's fresh everybody.
