Smells of strong citrus and floral, and tastes that way too. This beer is sweeter than what I typically enjoy in an ipa but different so there’s that going for it. Has an alcohol kick to it though, sneaks up on you. Overall, I’d probably have it again, great price point too but that is reflected somewhat in the taste.

Got this on Draught. I was quite satisfied. Well present head with light lacing. Nose very fruity and bright. The taste was almost exactly like lychee fruit, which I found astounding. Very little malt, and the hops are sort of masked by its sweetness. The bitterness at the end is almost instant and bitey. A bit too much for my taste, but a quality others may enjoy. Overall, I was not dissappointed alwith this at all. I think the fact that this beer is readily available year round and largley distrubuted ought not to disturb or detour someone from trying this pleasantly fresh beer which has a well balanced sweet citric/bitter quality to it. One things for sure, in the hot months, that lychee fruitiness will keep me coming back for another drink!

I've tried a lot of IPAs in europe and USA and this one is definitely my favorite. It has the perfect balance of bitterness and fruity flavor.

Sweetwater IPA is actually really, really good! It's not a tongue bruiser like torpedo, and god forgive me honestly it tastes better crushing it from the can! It's subtle tropical notes enhance the smell & palate altogether. Did I mention every can is can-conditioned? This is perfect for the beach, grilling out, and overall a great intro to the IPA category.
