Goin' Coastal is an amber color with a light head. Smell is of light fruit and citrus. It does not have a direct pineapple aroma, but there is an interesting blended fruit scent.

Taste contains a bitter hoppiness with a pear, pinneaple, and peach blend. It has a light finish and faint bitter after taste.

A well done IPA. However I wish the pineapple had a stronger flavor profile. Yet, I would definitely recommend this offering to IPA fans.

Pours an almost clear light amber with solid head.
Aroma is citrus and fruity, with a mix of them and hop bitterness on the taste.
Light coating mouthfeel with hops dominating the aftertaste. Well above average but not quite outstanding. Kinda like a poor man's Jai Alai.

Poured into a tall clear pint glass. Glowing golden-orange, many floaters, great retention and lacing. Moderate carbonation.

A gentle, welcoming aroma consists mainly of pineapple and citrus, along with peaches, pears, mangos, cantaloupe, light biscuit, grassy notes, and grapefruit.

Mild tasting fruits like peach and cantaloupe, other tropical fruits and other fruity flavors are in the background. Mild 'stingy' aftertaste from the hops. So overall the malts win here, along with the biscuit masking it all together very well with its smooth composition.

Appearance: hazy gold with a white fluffy head
Aroma: citrus, pineapple, light biscuit
Taste: citrus, mango, pineapple, pears and peaches, with grassy notes, and light biscuit notes
Mouth feel: highly carbonated, which opens up the softer flavors
Overall: this is a easy drinking beer. I was pleasantly surprised that the added pineapple wasn't over done.
Glad I bought this one.

From the back label, on a dark blue rectangle: "BEST IF ENJOYED BY: 03/12/19"

Appearance: The beer has a slightly hazy golden-orange body with a very thick and large white head with excellent retention.

Aroma: The beer smells a bit like gummy peach rings and pineapple chunks. It smells nice but it's very soft.

Taste: It has a bit of a fruit cup flavor starting with peach and tangerine with a bit of pear in there towards the end. Although the beer touts that this is an "IPA WITH PINEAPPLE" it doesn't seem to make an appearance in the flavor.

Mouthfeel: The mouthfeel in this beer is superb. It is astoundingly drinkable. The bitterness and the acidity to the beer are perfect. It has a gentle texture which is enhanced by the carbonation. It just does wonders for this beer.

Overall: This was an enjoyable beer. It isn't something I would highly recommend running out and finding, but it definitely has a nice flavor and character that I would recommend drinking it if you can find it. I would buy it again.

From the bottle, it pours a lightly hazy golden amber with a lustrous thick head that leaves lacing as you enjoy it - even on an out of date bottle like the one I am enjoying! Pleasant scent of pineapple and citrus in the nose. The mouth gets a solid malt with a light "sting" of citrus. nice!

Pours a hazy golden hue with a thick head into my glass. Sweet pineapple essence in nose with a mellow citrus vibe. Big pineapple bite upfront that dominates the palate, finishing with sweet malt. Mouthfeel confirms that this is a burster, a pop of flavor that quickly dissipates. Well worth a try if you like pineapple.

Look: It pours golden and clear. Head retention is excellent.

Smell: The aroma has pineapple and grapefruit up front. There are other tropical fruits and cantaloupe.

Taste: It has pineapple flavors with cantaloupe and grapefruit. Other tropical elements and low in the background. There is a bit of sweetness in the flavor from beginning to end.

Feel: It has a medium body. The sweetness carries through the finish. It is not really all the bitter.

Overall, a nice tropical IPA with a lighter bitterness than the average IPA.

Where do I start? Ah! Remember going to the grocery store and buying those gummies (fruit snacks), more so those shark bite gummies? Now you can experience it again but this time in beer. This beer gives off a nice pineapple flavor but a gummie pineapple flavor. Don't expect the real thing, if referring to pineapple, but expect the real thing when referring to gummies!

Good balance of IPA hoppy dryness and pineapple sweetness. A no brainier in the case of tall boy cans. Camping, beach, feeling "tropical" in your underwear. This is easy drinking, good party beer as a starter IPA and good enough for IPA fans.

At 6.1, this one will sneak up on you if you aren't careful. Totally sessionable and extremely tasty. On a hot day or around the pool, I think you would enjoy it, if you like IPA's. I must also add that it is very "user-friendly". I popped 5 of these at the pool one night and woke up feeling real 5 hours later. Very clean beer.

Sweet fruity, hoppy smell. Thick white head that dissipates to a thin wisp. Very good lacing. Thick and decent creamy mouthfeel, and moderate carbonation. Nice and hoppy with a malty and fruity sweetness. The pineapple notes add to the sweetness. Crispy and sweet, with the taste of a pretty good IPA. A good summery offering. Give it a try!

12 oz can poured into snifter.
Nice hazy honey-amber color with a tall fluffy head of 3 fingers, receding to a thick ring and leaving lace on the sides.

Bright pineapple aromas and some nice citrus-grapefruity hop. Orange and orange peel. Slight caramel malt.

Flavor is great! Really nice fruity explosion with pineapple, grapefruit, mango, and orange. A crisp pilsner malt base cuts straight up the middle to give both sharpness and acidity.

Feel is crisp and semi-creamy, semi-sticky. Slightly resinous finish matched with crispness.

Overall a very solid IPA I'd have again given the chance.

Goin' Coastal has a thick, off-white head, a murky, sediment-filled, orange appearance, and minimal glass lacing. Aroma is of tropical fruit and pale, sweet malt. Taste is of that, with white bread crust and low-level bitterness. Mouthfeel is high medium, and Goin' Coastal finishes mostly dry.

This Sweetwater looks pretty good in the glass, with nice lacing and a deep golden color (that falsely says I'm strong). The aroma is a nice fruit enhanced hops smell. The taste is a combination of bitters from hops and fruit, I think, that does not totally work. The grapefruit is just OK. The aftertaste is bitter mostly from fruit.

Not recommended. There are plenty of better fruit enhanced AIPA's.

the flavor here is tasty, but it definitely tastes a little artificial and cheap, like the pineapple is sort of candied and heavy in here, but its cool that its an ipa and not a blonde ale or something super light, the hops are really nice with it, also rather tropical which gives this a real summery and vacation sort of vibe, but a more natural pineapple profile would lend a lot to drinkability, and if it were on the drier side it would be a better beer. hard to be too critical though, this is a mass appeal summer thing that is well hoppy and pretty distinctive, very pineapple forward but its real compatible with the hops too. i think its cool that its a little stronger too, sturdy for something warm weather. its not as sweet in the finish as it is in the middle, and the pineapple lingers long with the hops which is kind of neat. well carbonated and best when ice cold, short of fully refreshing, but good overall and in line with a lot of the other sweetwater stuff in terms of quality. everyone should like this, its rad thats its hoppy!

I was prepared not to like this beer, as often with the infusion of a sweet fruit like pineapple, hop bite is replaced with cloying sweetness. But the Sweetwater team went easy on the sweetness, leaving a pleasant light, hoppy effort with just a touch of fruit sugar. Nice job!

Very good IPA!!!! Had two on tap at the Surf's Up restaurant in Emerald Isle, NC. Poured a slightly hazy, mostly golden color with a fairly big frothy white head and good rings of lacing. Strong aroma and flavor of citrus hops (orange and pineapple) and a nice level of bitterness. Mouthfeel is crisp and dry, featured more biscuity malt rather than caramel. No major alcohol presence. I lke this one and would have it again!!!!

2/5/18...pours gold, semi-bright, thick 1/4 inch of white foam. Pineapple juice nose, fruity. Slight bitter open, twists tropical and then closes with an earthy bitter. Creamy mouthfeel, sharp fast bitter. A little disjointed.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Duvel tulip

L: Nearly clear golden brown pour. 2 fingers of foamy white head leave great sticky lacing.

S: Citrus and pineapple... tropically oriented hops.

T/F: Biscuity grains and malt backbone. Moderately bitter tropical hops. Pineapple for sure... lighter citrus and mango. Melon and mild mint. Light bodied... well carbonated and tropical fruit/pineapple in the aftertaste.

O: A very solid pineapple IPA. Relatively sessionable at 6%... tasty and very drinkable.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange color. Nice head. I get the pineapple but this is still an IPA at heart. The hops aren't overpowered by whatever flavoring they are using. Pineapple is present on the tongue but still, the IPA character stands true. A pleasant surprise; most of these fruit flavored IPAs are just packed with artificial flavor. This one just uses a more approachable dosing rate.

It tastes like an IPA mixed with citrus juice. It feels very light and eay to drink. Like a session IPA, despite the 6.1 ABV. It would be a nice brew for a hot summer day.

Deep orange pour. Moderate head.

Huge overpowering smell of pineapple. In your face. Taste follows suit. Artificial sweetness leads into a bitter dry finish. Decent carbonation bit of a boozy finish.

In the end, I pass.
