12 oz single bottle best by 3/17/20 into Boulevard smokestack snifter.

Hazy opaque blonde with a creamy head of 2 fingers, with lots of globby lace as it recedes.

The aroma is straight pipe bowl. Just tons of dank cannabis, it's crazy. Some slight fruit in there too like a hookah. Very dank, nice fleshy fruity notes.

The flavor is pleasing to the palate. It lies lazy on the tongue with juicy mango and cantaloupe, and the wheat malt really comes in as well. Fading flavors of cannabis and herb, but not without the essence of mango.

Feel is creamy and carbonated, with somewhat of a starchy pasty finish. Mild alcohol heat.

Overall, a very interesting and creative wheat ale that I'll probably go back for more of. This was a treat.

Wow. Yes, the "hemp" definitely is present in the smell. Not much citrus in the smell. When poured, I got a noticable amount of "floaties". Golden color. Taste: was surprised that I actually tasted some mango. With the smell, I assumed I wouldn't. I imagine this beer hinges on whether you like the smell of marijuana, I don't.

Look: Slightly hazy light orange with some visible carbonation bubbles. Two fingers of sudsy white head with good retention.

Smell: Hoo boy. When away from the glass, your nose is still hit by a distinct dank marijuana smell like someone smoked a joint in the room recently. Closer to the glass for a proper sniff, the weed is suppressed by citrusy hops but still present.

Taste: An initial note of pot from your nose, but it's mostly a lightly bitter hop flavor with some orange peel. Faint note of wheat malt on the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: Full, smooth, highly carbonated.

Overall: A pretty standard wheat ale, albeit heavily hopped, that has a big dose of kush in the scent. How you feel about this depends on how you prefer that smell. I personally don't.

Pours a deep gold with swirling particulates. The pour produces 2+ fingers of white, short-lived, frothy head that leaves only a hint of lace, surface cap and collar. The damn stuff smells like marigolds and marijuana. Before I cracked open my first 420 Strain G13 IPA I could not say I'd ever experienced such in any other beer, well here it is again. Aroma is dank herbal and resinous notes blended with tropical fruit (mango heavy as the name implies) and orange in a malty matrix. Taste is sweet malt and less dank than in the nose but still DANK. Orange, tangerine, herbal, floral and resinous hints are present. Malt sweetness and bitterness are well balanced. Sweet fronted and backed by a bitterness that increases into the finish and then lingers. Finishes dry with low-level tropical fruit and dankness which become very minimal in the low profile aftertaste. Mouthfeel is low-medium bodied with moderate carbonation, prickly & lively. My last comment is this: for a wheat ale it has low level wheat character. Not sure I picked up on it at all. But then that might show my level of experience.

Weird and Wonderful all at the same time. Ultimately, lacks any Character.
Lets begin with the looks. This Beer has a bright Yellow-Gold Color. Opaque appearance with loads of off-white head. Good retention and nice Lacing along the glass. Now moving on to smell. On the nose, The aroma of Mango seems to woft around a bit. I cant define if I smell Hemp or not. The smell is faint. The may be a slight hint of malt. As for flavor, I must say this Beer is unique in some ways but at the same time underwhelming. At the top of the sip I get Clean Water. I'v come to expect that from wheit Beir. Next along with the clean watery taste is the hint of Mango Skin. Mind you there is no sweetness or juice-like qualities to help carry the flavor. this quickly dissipates and leads to a traditional hefeweizen flavor. The end has a damn near perfect hop character. nice 30 IBU hit really is the saving grace for this beer. All along there is a Dank malt character that sits bellow the surface. Now for feel. I enjoy the smooth frothiness of this beer. there is a medium carbonation and a medium texture. The beer would have a even better texture if it wasn't for that watery Un-sweet lack of flavor it has going on. Overall, it tastes like Watered down Mango juice mixed with a Hefeweizen. But good hop bitterness. This beer has me saying...meh...

Slightly hazy straw color, frothy white head, recedes fairly quickly to a skim; Aroma is appealing but not strong; Tangy and nicely carbonated; Pleasant taste, slightly fruity but not sweet; Not bad; It's not gonna become a favorite, but not bad.

Surprisingly pleasant one here. The smell is VERY funky, even moreso than the standard 420 strain. I was expecting a seasonal gimmick as others have mentioned, quite enjoyable and wouldn't mind seeing this in six packs.

Pours a clear golden color with heavy carbonation and moderate head. Scent of sweet, malt and bologna? A malty, sweet taste with medium mouthfeel and crisp aftertaste. O fo not know why I keep up coming with bologna, but I am damn sure wanting a fried bologna sandwich right now

Look: Slightly hazy gold. Had some sediment from the bottle sink to the bottom.
Smell: Very hoppy, heavy smell of some sort of weed. A slight hay scent almost.
Taste: A rush of malty mango, with the aftertaste resembling a hoppy air.
Feel: Slight carbonation, but a sharp hit of it. Rounds out everything nicely.

Overall, I thought this would be yet another seasonal "meme" beer, but it ended up being really nice.

SweetWater Brewing Co. "420 Strain Mango Kush Wheat Ale"
12 fl. oz. brown glass bottle, "BEST IF ENJOYED BY: 10/21/19 B2342" and sampled on 09/23/19
$2.29 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ

Notes via stream of consciousness: It's poured a hazy yellow gold body with a finger thick head of creamy white foam on top. The aroma certainly is strange, combining clear notes or mango and resinous, "dank" weed. I've never smelled a beer like this before, and it's at once a little off-putting and a little compelling. Moving on to the flavor... well that's a little strange as well. Or a lot. There's clear mango, clear resinous "dankness", and some wheaty malt. I'm not sure how they make this 420 stuff, but damn, they've gotten real close to the real thing. I don't know... I think I'm really starting to like it! Of course that's just personal preference and it's really all about how well the beer is brewed and put together. It certainly seems well brewed, I still have a solid surface covering of foam and there's some very nice lacing left about the glass, and it seems really well balanced as well, especially when you consider it's a kind of unusual combination of flavors. A firm bitterness balances and it finishes dry with some mango and just a touch of "dankness" lingering. In the mouth it's medium-light in body and crisp and zesty. I'd go for another one of these. It's interesting.

Wow, so it has the aroma of a bud for certain. Thought it was marketing but holy cow. Sweet malt, mild hops.

Taste is pretty much the same. Bitter finish is surprising and welcome.

Carbonation bite also rounds it out.

I really don't notice the mango which is fine with me.

I expected a goofy gimmick beer but I really like it a lot. It came in a sample pack but would buy it on its own in the future.

Oh yeah....the "kush" hits the nose right out of the gate....very interesting to say the least...but after that, you are left with a mostly above average wheat ale...unique and worth a try.

Unmistakable pot hit on the aroma right on opening from at least a foot away.

Flavor is more subtle but still packs a lot of hemp/MJ with more mango nuances than bursts.

Feel is soft with medium body.

A unique beer with a MJ invasion.

Very attractive clear gold color with bountiful white cap and lacing.

Aroma of sweet grain, bit of caramel, some tropical fruit and something darkly herbal.

Taste on entry is definitely citrus, I can identify mango and something else like tangerine zest along with a very spicy herbalness which has a sharpness like green bell pepper. There is a hop presence that adds zing to the thing without being too intrusive. More body than expected and a slight tartness from beginning to end.

Fuller than medium body with balancing carbonation.

It's different, easy to drink and very refreshing.

Appearance: Clean golden with a huge white head and waves of cloudy lace.

Aroma: Straight-up kush, yes.

Taste: Hint of fruit backing up behind the weedy dankness. Solid ale.

Fairly nice, light pale wheat ale with some subtle flavors and pleasing feel. Pours a lighter orange-golden color with some mild white head and spotty lingering lacing. Smells rather strongly of some dankness, ripe fruity hops, malt, faint wheat and caramel. Tastes similarly, but again the wheat is rather restrained and makes for very easy drinking. Ripe mango, tangerine, lemon, guava, papaya. Smooth, mild, thin mouthfeel and decent carbonation. A fine beer and one I would likely try again.

Weed in a glass with some mango. Wow. The slightly hazy mango-colored beer under an off-white head is beautiful, and it leads to a Wheat Ale in name only that has a slight mango note and a HUGE hemp component, which is equally pronounced on the taste.

I don’t partake, but after drinking this, I feel like I did. What a flavorful ride.

*Edit, apparently there is NO weed in this beer, that being said, i cannot recommend driving with an open container of this stuff as it will get everyone in your truck arrested for possible marijuana possession, this is from experience, they even called in dogs

I'm not going to get deep with my review but this is a very interesting beer. You may ask, why did I give this a 5 in smell? It smells like weed. Very good weed. That's what they are going for in this beer. It's a nice change of pace and fun drink at 5%. Cheers!!

420 Strain Mango Kush Wheat Ale brewed by SweetWater Brewing Company, with an ABV of 5.00% This American Pale Wheat Ale pours out of a 12oz glass bottle into a pint beer glass. The color is nice golden amber color with a nice thick white head. There is some nice lacing to this brew, it sticks to the side of the glass well. The smell is rich with dank flavors, hop bitterness mixed with earthy grains and malts. You also pick up on a slight mango sweetness in the smell as well. Now for the taste, it is Bold with flavors. You first pick up on the bold Hoppy bitterness in this brew. Then at the end this brew smooths out with wheat brew notes an mango sweetness. The dank notes are definitely there , an the mango sweetness is a nice touch. There is a lot going on in 420 Strain Mango Kush Wheat Ale. The body of this brew is a solid medium. If you are a fan of hops or dank smelling brew you should look this one up. This brew would go nice with dinner or on a warm summer day. The mouth feel is Bold, Rich, Hoppy, Dank, Clean, Smooth and Refreshing. Overall I am going to give 420 Strain Mango Kush Wheat Ale a 3.75 out of 5. I would definitely look this brew up again giving the opportunity to. Just to change it up from other mainstream brews on the market today. SweetWater Brewing Company, did a real nice job with this American Pale Wheat Ale.

Poured from a bottle into shaker pint. Clear yellow color with a nice white head and good lacing. Fruity, just slightly skunky, smell. Fruity, herbal, grassy taste. I bet this is really good on tap.

I like the bottle label artwork, great use of color. There is a bottled on date on the back. The pour is light orange into the pint glass, I do notice some sediment in here as well. The aroma is hemp with light citrus. The flavor is a little bitter but nothing overwhelming on the palate, a soft herbal note, some mango & there is definitely some hemp notes lingering in there as well. I think this beer is smoother than the 420 strain G13. The Sweetwater Brewing Company is surely making a name for themselves in the southern craft beer scene. Cheers! B

Cannabis redolent in aroma and taste, hitting heavy with dank resins and pungent hemp. Mango is evident but more subtle than I expected, lacking the loud artificiality of mango puree or other ersatz mango "natural flavors" so often used in inferior fruited ales.

Hop oils, mellow mango flesh, floral hop notes, pale malt. Balanced and enjoyable, delivering surprisingly well on its cannabis gimmick without compromising on flavour.

So many breweries will try this kind of cannabeer for the marketing gimmickry over the next few years; here's one that's actually a good brew in its own right. Well worth trying.

My middle son and his wife warmed me about this, as they had it in draft. I figured it might be different out of the bottle...

...and well, it wasn't any better. It did have some decent coloration and the smell was an appealing blend of hops and mangoes. Mouthfeel was light and crisp, low on carbonation with a taste that was just, well, plain weird. I've wanted to like this "420" series but I suppose this just won't be one of those series that will like. Overall, this isn't as bad as I was warned, but it wasn't anything I'll be on the lookout moving forward.
