A: Pours a slightly cloudy amber color with a decent head that leaves a nice lace around the glass.

S: Sweet caramel malt aroma up front with a decent amount of bitter hop aroma.

T: Sweet toffee like flavor right off the bat but quickly balanced with a palate cleansing hop blast. Slight biscuity aftertaste.

O: Over all a pretty solid ESB here. Wouldn't mind visiting this one again.

Burnt orange color was nice to look at, and the body was mostly clear with some lingering haze. The head was thin, like a rim of bubbles mostly. The smell was sweet and citric, and nothing like any ESB. It was too fruity and perfumey to be considered even close. The taste was spicy, earthy, honey sweet, and slightly soured. The mouthfeel was very chalky and a bit harsh. Not a bad beer per se, but way off target for the style, and not very sessionable.

Pours a dark copper color with a nice two finger cream colored head. The head falls slow with some good lacing.

Aroma is nice toasted malts with nice fruity notes. Some light hop aroma floral with some over ripe fruit. Who know maybe the fruits more from the malt then the hops. Either way nice smelling ESB.

Taste is nice toasted malts good caramel hints some ripe fruity notes. Hops in the finish seem more earthy with touches of pine. Good malt flavors with just enough hops for an ESB.

Mouthfeel is solid medium carbonation is smooth with a light pep towards the finish.

Overall very well done ESB great way to represent a style.

Bottle pours a hazy amber body with a medium sized offwhite head. Attractive patchy lacing graces the glass.

Aroma has a sharp hoppiness. Citrusy grapefruit and pine notes obscure any hint of malt.

Mouthfeel has a creamy carbonation and medium body.

Taste has a prominent citrusy hop bitterness. Pine notes add an edge. No significant malt presence to this one. Finishes dry and bitter like an IPA.

Misses the boat as an ESB. No malt character or no apple or pear notes that I look for in a good ESB. Way too hoppy for style.

Hazy amber color with a two finger head at the start, then settling down to nice blanket over the beer. Great head retention and lacing.

The aroma is a nice toasted malt blended well with a citrus hop.

The first thing I noticed is the delicious malt flavor. Toasted with a bit of caramel and a touch of sourdough. The hops are present but are blended so well with malt.

The ale has a medium almost slick on the tongue feel. Still easy to drink and would make a perfect session beer. Most ESB's I have had do.

Probably not as bitter as the style would suggest, but it nice just to have a well crafted balanced ale. I am happy I picked this brew up.

Reddish copper hue under a fat, sturdy head. Smells pretty green with a toasted grainy sweetness underneath citrus and grass. Sweet malt flavor balanced with tea-like and juicy citrus hops. Not really something to compare to authentic ESBs, this is more like a solid amber ale to me. The mouthfeel is gritty and creamy thanks to the low carbonation, finishing dry and bitter. Again, there's way too much green, hoppy bitterness for this to be a good ESB - this is American-style stuff - but it's pretty tasty whatever it is, so I have trouble faulting it...

12oz bottle obtained via Local BIF from Tazz1962. Thanks for the opportunity. <Jeremy2002 = bad trader>

Poured into an imperial pint, formed a 1 3/4" beige head above the slightly cloudy copper brew. Super-dense head is going nowhere fast at all, with coating, sticky lacing. Aroma is fruity and lightly sweet. Taste starts where the nose left off, sweet and citrus, with a lightly earthy hops close. Mouthfeel is smooth, and drinkability is good. Nice one.

Neutral amber color with a slightly hazy touch. Good start to the head--leaves some ring and spotty lace.

This is a very pleasant blend of caramel-like malt with a flowery hop smell. This continues through the taste, although the hops are more prickly. The aftertaste is bitter but doesn't last forever Rich mouthfeel with a light spritz in the carbonation. A wonderfully blended beer.

Appearance: Arrives with a hazy amber color and a two finger head that displays good retention and drips some lace

Smell: Slightly citrusy with a caramel backbone

Taste: Well- balanced from the outset, with both a tea-like earthy hop character and a caramel aspect; after the swallow, the herbacious hop character is apparent but the finish is sweet

Mouthfeel: Medium body with prickly carbonation

Drinkability: A bit too sweet to be a classic but rather enjoyable

Bottle courtesy of Ding as part of Good, Bad, and Ugly BIF. Thanks!
Frothy off-white head off the pour, with bubbles settling quickly to a rocky collar and leaving some fine lacing stuck to the glass. Slightly hazy orange/amber. Lots of hop aroma, mostly of the citrus variety. Grapefruit and tangerine. Very mild malt sweetness in the background. Moderate bitterness with hop flavour dominating throughout, yet fading in the finish. Malt character was thin and did little other than provide a bit of sweetness, though as it warmed there were some faint toffee and cocoa notes. Quite dry with a thin body and average carbonation level. There was a smoothness of texture that somewhat made up for the dryness and thin malt. An okay beer and one that I'd happily drink again, but way off style for an ESB.
