The Strain keeps rolling along with this hazy double IPA. Aromas of citrusy orange hit first with a caboose full of vanilla and pine notes following. The billowing dank aroma jumps the whole thing off the rails. A Strange New Strain Indeed.

The pour is somewhere is between golden yellow & orange. The taste is orange, grains, slight skunk, mild papaya, mild dank, & mild hops. This hazy IPA is surprisingly smooth & tasty not to say that there original 420 strain isn't smooth in it's own right either. I'm utterly impressed with what Sweetwater Brewing has been doing in the craft beer industry during the last few years. Cheers! A-

12oz bottle. Label is marked for best by date as '06/19/21'.
Cloudy, pale gold colored body. Long lasting one finger white head. Leaves bands of lacing on non-drinking side.
Aroma of orange, pine and caramel.
Taste is semi sweet orange, followed by dank pine. Good caramel malt base. Dry and piney in the aftertaste.
More than medium, sticky mouth feel. Very good carbonation.
Balanced, crispy, and tasty, but overall rather subdued. One must like the bud to enjoy.

Pours a murky orange/gold with a nice white cap that sticks around and leaves nice lacing. Aroma is hemp hoppy with some mild citrus. Flavor follows the nose, sweet in front with some hop bitterness in the finish. Feel is medium bodied and adequately carbonated. Overall just an okay beer.

Pours a hazy, murky golden color. 1 finger white head. Head retention is ok, and there's some lacing on the glass.
The nose is hoppy, with a hemp aroma, which I'm not a fan of.
Taste - Hops come up front. The hemp flavor in the middle, and a bit of sweetness on the backside.
Decent bodied, slightly crisp feeling.
I probably shouldn't be drinking this series, because I'm not a "hemp" fan at all.

Now this is a 420 Strain I can get into...

...the base 420 Strain, the G13, I am really not a big fan of. But this? This is actually pretty good and decently juicy. The look, however, is the most appealing aspect of this brew - opaquely hazy, an appealing color of orange, gradients from top to bottom, truly a sight to behold. The rest of it is solid. So far, this is the best offering from the variety pack.

CAN:

Hop oil, terpene, overripe fruit, resin, "dank" cannabis-redolent hop oils.

SweetWater has made the cannabis gimmickry the cornerstone of their (I)IPA series, and to be honest with how simply effective it is I can't blame them...the gimmick works for me. This is a more balanced and more interesting imperial IPA than most I've tried this year, and while it's a bit simplistic and shallow for the style (which demands more of a hop varietal focus than this provides), I can't knock it given how approachable it is for its ABV.

A gimmicky but enjoyable beer, even if it isn't top tier in the IIPA style.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a bronze color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of citrus, light weed. Taste is dank, citrus, a touch of weed, much less than other beers in this series, mild bitterness for a DIPA. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.
