Notes: Never sacrifice flavor for drinkability. We brewed this session 4% IPA with sticky Hop Hash to keep the hop chop high, the calories low, and the ABV mellow. Crisp, crushable - the High Light of your day.

Absolutely no no no. This should not be produced.

Sweetwater makes wonderful beers, and as a fan for > 15 years, it is so upsetting to see a low calorie beer being made to pander to the low calorie market. If you want a light beer, there is a whole bevy of michelob ultra esque beers out there. Please do not sully the Sweetwater name by continuing to make this.

This reminds me of buying a knock-off high end luxury purse, watch, etc. on the streets of city XYZ. Yes, it will make you feel like you are wearing Versace, but in the end, you are just wearing a cheap knock-off and hurting the brand.

12oz can. Poured out a crystal clear, golden yellow color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of caramel, light pine and orange peel. Kinda bland taste with sweet caramel and a touch of fruitiness. Low bitterness.

LOOK: Pours a pale straw to light bright gold with an all white head that quickly fades to a thin skin but does leave some decent side glass lace.
AROMA: Dank citrus aromas of grapefruit, orange and pine nuts as well as aromatic hops.
TASTE: My first venture in a Lo Cal IPA. The IPA characteristics are well done if a bit tame.
Thin mouthfeel Quite dry at the finish.

Look...copper and yellow mixed together to form a white fizzy head. Adequate carbonation and very little haze haha
Smell...so faint that it is not a factor. light hint of citrus and hop.
Taste...a very hop juice and instant bitter that i get from session. A chasable beer for sure I will have another and another and you get the picture. This is a hoppa for sure.
Feel...Excellent juiciness for the low ABV. A fine delivery of a hoppy beer
Overall...This is a perfect beer for the circumstance of hydration and beer drinking at the higher ounce level. (get my drift)
tip back a couple and it is a surprise of good flavors

NO can date
Pours a fizzy foamy almost 2 finger head with fair retention, little lacing, semi hazy pale golden tan color

Nose fair fruity hops, a little citrus, berry, juicy peachy stone fruit, a little malt, a little grassy floral hop

Taste brings more hops, light grassy and a touch floral, then citrus and stone fruit, very little malt, a bit watery, dry finish with med-light bitterness

Mouth is light bod, a bit watery, lighter carb

Overall it's a good attempt, nice hop character, but too thin and watery even for what it is, I've had a bunch of NA beers or other very low abv beers that have better a better body and depth, but still a nice hop character so decent

Hoppy and low cal. I liked the first half of the beer, but it lacked any kind of complexity so the second half of my drink wasn’t as enjoyable.

12 oz can, best by 11/21/21, into Ellipsis trophy glass.

Mostly transparent straw with a little gold tinge to it, a creamy finger of head that leaves lots of lace especially if it's rotated. Looks nice.

Signature SweetWater hop hash in the nose, with hints of apricot, grapefruit, and lime. Most of this is achieved through the can, but it's perceptible from the glass at half strength.

Flavor follows suit. Hop Hash - their delightfully fluffy oily cannabis pine mixture - mixing with grapefruit and hints of lime and apricot. Wheat and pale malts form the foundation of this delightfully light and easy IPA. Hints of pine on the finish. Some resins and oils remain but quickly wash away with the next sip and only remain for a span of 15-20 seconds when left alone.

Feel is crisp and wet but a little empty, but passable at 100 calories and 4% ABV. No heat obviously, and has a drying, resinous oily finish that lands halfway between west coast and plains.

Overall, as a regular IPA (which this is not), it's merely average. But at 100 calories, 5g carbs, and 4% ABV? Get the f##k outta here. It's the best one out there.

I'd buy this by the case if it were near me and we actually had enough people buying IPA to create a decent turnover. Until then, I guess I'm taking trips and crossing my fingers.

100% would definitely buy again as a calorie-conscious IPA. Remember we're rating to style here, folks. Superior work when considering the target market.

Appearance: Pours a mostly clear, light golden/yellow color with a strong white head. A bubbling body. SRM of 5-6. (4.00)

Aroma: Mild aromas of tropical fruit, orange, some hints of ripe pineapple. (3.50)

Flavor: Mild flavors of citrus upfront. Hints of pineapple and tropical fruit. (3.50)

Feel: Medium to light bodied. Strong carbonation. Carbonation finishes it clean without any flavor remaining on the palate.

Compared to Sierra Nevada Summer Break 8/2/21: Pours a darker color. Milder aromas. More citrus/pineapple. Less tropical fruit and berry. A lighter body and cleaner.

Overall: Just an alright session IPA. A bit lacking in flavor and body. I mean I guess that's what should be expected since it's a session. But this one was really devoid in flavor. Dissapointing flavor and body. Sometimes I want more than this in a beer. (Final Rating: 3.48)

12 ounce can in a standard pint glass.

Translucent yellow gold color. Af finger of white foam drops to a stick film and leaves soapy lacing.

Light citrus aromas of lemon and just there tangerine. Grassy and some wheat. Hoochy.

Subtle citrus hop and pine flavors.

It’s light and carbonated. Some hop bitterness and a bit unpleasant in feel.

Not bad for a 4% abv light ale. Could have been smoother.

Pours pale yellow with a 1" white head, which lasts. Moderate lacing.

Aroma is floral, pine, citrus, earthy.

Taste is pine, grapefruit zest, earthy, resinous.

Thin bodied, moderate carbonation. Dry finish.

A bit thin for an IPA. Considering it's lo-cal, it's pretty decent.

Looks like a lite beer, white head is more dense than you expect from a light beer, but fades off.
Smells like a lite ipa beer, fresh and hoppy, but light.
Taste has very little if any malty fullness - it's hop and carbonation, and crisp all the way. I kinda like that sometimes.
Feel is light and dry and crushable.

Come on Sweetwater. Please bring back the Hop Hash Easy IPA. This is not what I was hoping for, this is a tasteless, watered down version. I'm sorry I bought a 15 pack. Might as well drink that Mik Ultra in the fridge.

Purchased as a single bottle from Kroger for $1.69. Poured into a nonic pint glass.

L - Crystal-clear burnt orange, with a thin buff head.
S - Cannabis. Funky pine, with notes of lemon peel.
T - Pine, citrus, and floral notes. Some green tea, too. A thin matzo flavor is present. A bit peppery.
F - Crisp and light, with little body. Lightly carbonated.
O - Did not expect the weed smell, although it isn't a bad thing! Pretty fun twist on things, but pretty common too. I'm liking this new trend of light/session IPAs, but this beer is proof that it needs more evolution for it to become mainstream. It's not horrible, don't get me wrong. I don't think I'm a fan, though. It needs more bold flavors, and a stronger malt backing (but a good 90% hop presence). I'd day drink this, though. The price isn't too shabby, either. I'd probably buy this again.

Not really into light beers, and this was another reminder...

I like Sweetwater, they have plenty of great beers, but why they would veer their craft brewing into the lo-cal area is beyond me. This is not a bad beer, actually, it's one of the better lights I have had. It's just after having had so much craft over the years, all lights from craft brewers seem just marginally better than those mass produced "lites".

12 oz can with a May 2021 BB date stamped on the bottom.
Pours with a very slightly hazy amber body and a fine white head.
This has an aroma that's moderately strong for an IPA and that's more piney than the flavor, the latter being more fruity. While the flavor may be slightly milder than the typical American IPA it's also more harmonious and has ample complexity to hold interest as a session ale.
Feel. Smooth, with a near medium body.
Overall. This will readily pass as a mainstream American IPA. It's plenty good enough to choose even when calories are not a concern.

This beer replaced Hop Hash Easy IPA. IMO, it is nowhere near as good.

At 100 calories, the beer is thin-bodied, bordering on watery, with little malt character. It still has a substantial hop charge, and a reasonable hop nose for an IPA, but the thin body really does not carry the hops well. Overall, the beer is out of balance. It is barely drinkable on its own, so I blend it with a high gravity IPA with more residual sweetness to provide an acceptable balance.

In my opinion, The High Light Easy IPA was a swing-and-miss by Sweetwater. I would recommend giving it a pass, there is too much good craft beer around to spend money on this one.

(This is Hop Hash Easy IPA, newly rebranded.) Lots of fluffy head -- too much for me, gets in the way. Amount of head feels a little artificial, as does the flavor, good IPA flavor that seems goosed somehow. Quite bitter, a little thin, tending toward slightly metallic, but definitely acceptable. Drinkable as is, but calories are so low that I like to blend it with a more syrupy, higher ABV beer such as Scofflaw Basement (another Atlanta beer, delicious).
