This beer is now an old friend. Excellent on tap, will blind side you if you get carried away. Always tasty.

Sweetwater 430 Extra Pale Ale is one of the best beers to come out of the South. Has a golden-amber color, and a hoppy taste that is not at all offensive and has very little bitterness to it. Has a lemon-citrus essence and goes down smooth. Overall, a good beer.

On tap at BWW in Pensacola. Definitely had this before but finally giving it a score. A pretty basic and consistent APA. Nothing special but a decent go-to in the South.

In a tulip glass. Lovely yellow to amber pour with a small amount of head. The smell was fresh but not overpowering. A pleasant taste without the IPA bite. Perhaps a milder batch of hops? Overall very tasty but doesn't stand out in the crowd.

12 oz can, dated 12/22/17. Pours hazy straw gold with a big frothy white head that quickly diminishes to a thinnish film that laces the glass some.

The aroma is sweet bready caramel malt with fruity hops.

The flavor is sweet bready caramel malt with some fruity resiny hops. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a nice fruity hoppy pale.

Impression from a can:

Floral hop notes and 2-row pale malt combine to form an underwhelming pale ale with a flavour profile we've observed in a million other pale ales. Inferior even to a pale ale as widely distributed as Sierra Nevada's. Lacks hop pungency and depth of flavour.

A painfully simplistic rudimentary beer whose existence is tough to justify in the contemporary beer market. Who buys this regularly aside from local beer obsessed Georgians?
