The new Yard House in Ridge Hill is a great place for anyone that loves some great beer's on tap. Always having specialty and season beers, bottled or on tap. The beer list is extensive and has something for everyone. A Yard House favorite of mine is the Young's Double Chocolate Stout mixed with Lindeman's Framboise. A fantastic dessert beer. The wait staff is very helpful, and knowledgeable about the beer offered, not to mention friendly, and easy on the eyes... Happy hour with half priced pizza and cheaper glasses, makes for one helluva good afternoon!

I had heard good things locally about Yard House, but had never been there. This is the local franchise in a national chain which boasts 130 beers on tap. This appears to be a fair appraisal based on the size of the tap area at the bar, although I didn't actually count. That said, the beers are a broad collection, but not necessarily an exceptional group of local, domestic, and imported brews. Other beverages including wine and mixed drinks are also available.

We arrived just in time for Happy Hour, but only tried the appetizers, which my group heartily enjoyed. The service was enthusiastic and helpful. The Yonkers Yard House basically has a chrome and neon sports bar vibe with lively Classic Rock playing. It was getting very crowded by the time we arrived for a Friday night happy hour; Happy Hour is Monday to Friday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Late Night Happy Hour is Sunday to Wednesday from 10:00 pm to close with drink and food prices are reasonable reduced.

Definitely worth a look if you are living in or near Yonkers, NY.

Yardhouse. Never heard of it ‘til I did. Brought up the website and eyeballed the beer selection, thinking “They’ve got fucking Deschutes?” and then I realized, this is a chain, and the location you’re looking at is on the wrong coast. A total fluke I’d be here in Jonkers, I assure you; having seen the Palisades Mall location for the first time just 8 days ago. Up up up atop the hill between Thruway & Parkway, this one imbedded in something of an open air mall, a bit of a walk from my car…

This location is smaller, and similar but different. Bar is the same stainless steel panel topped, panel base, & foot box, but seating for only 40 on leather hightop chairs 3 sides around. No barback proper to speak of, but there are 130 handles on a large oval stainless steel panel configuration wrapping completely around; 5 panels with 10 taps each on both sides and a 15 tap wraparound endcap on the ends. No cut through in the middle like the PM location, but with the bar compressed, they really don’t need it. A center board over the taps list ‘the Belgian & the IPA 6 pack samplers’, and the seasonal & limited ‘blackboard series’ drafts. ½ yard glasses from racks above over the taps; maybe today I’ll get to see the face splash, wouldn’t that be swell? Strangely, the Yard House doesn’t have full yard glasses. I mean, the place ain’t called the ½ Yard House, duh. Flatscreens on both ends (basketball, basketball, and, oh, wait, basketball). Booze below the taps and welled on the end with stacked glassware.

Beige walls over wood lowers with loud, vibrant horizontal paintings. Black block tilings around the bar and beige blocks around beyond. Black ceiling with blended duct work and strange pipeworkings from the bar tap system up to the ceiling and running overhead to the keg room. Drop racks with baby spots over the bar and larger ones over the seating areas. Flatscreens in all corners and midway points about the room; some 9000 of them in all.

Upwards of 6 dozens booths & tables. Booths running the perimeter 4 sides around and tables on the inside off the bar; hightops on the far side and up front, lowboys the rest of the way around. The front seating with views of the shopping strip, and the far side over the keg room most unusual. By that I mean, there’s a large window looking in on the mountain of kegs like anyone would reasonably want to see that (it’s not brewing equipment, people). And the kitchen tucked in the far corner with its tell red glow lighting.

So, 121 unique taps, the menu broke out styleish and all encompassing, i.e., dark & roasted, bold & bitter, hoppy & floral, etc. At least ½ of them are American craft beer, and at least another 1/3 more are decent to good imports, plus a ½ dozen ciders. Witz asked if they just do starter craft, and well, no. Not a lot of full on macro, I’m okay with that. I started with the Green Flash White IPA, then a Carton Boat Beer, and then a pair of shortys; Lagunitas Pils & He’brew Death of a Contract Brewer. Samplers, beer cocktails, and all that.

I was thinking that wings were in order. Done buffalo, firecracker, or jerk, I went with the most mild of the 3. This might surprise you but, yes, the jerk wings had some heat, they did. They brought pain. And despair.

Tunes are good. Neil, Bruce, Doors, PJ, Beatles, and more PJ; I think it would do the other patrons well to hear me sing along aloud to ‘Black’. My server confessed that watching the ½ yard glass blowback was the best part of serving here, and then she added ‘just kidding’, but you know she was not nor should she have been. They have Captain Lawrence beers here but none of the other locals (Newburgh, Defiant… Peekskill, for fuck’s sake), and likewise, none of the new little guys. Still, a whole lot of solid craft offerings. When malling hillside…

For a chain bar/restaurant I was pleasantly surprised. I think it had 130 beers on tap so you may have a hard time narrowing down what to drink so you may want to order a sampler which consists of 6 different small glasses of beer until you find what you like.
I never seem to be able to try as many beers as I would like as I would have been able to do in my youth. The food is good & the portion size was big enough on the dishes I ordered to soak up all the great beer. Because the bar is so big it sometimes takes a little too long in between beers for my liking.

Instantly at the top of the good beer place list in lower Westchester county and just a short ride north of the Bronx. NYS thruway a mile or so to the west and the Bronx River pkwy just a stones throw to the east. Located in the new mall, the place is large, open floor plan, oval bar in the middle with over 100(!) mostly quality taps. Very comfortable feel, staff is super friendly, food is higher end in a non stuffy way. Loads of large screens to take in the action. Really hard to find much not to like here.

Works for beer geeks looking for the latest offering from Kelso, Stone, Captain Larry, Ballast Point and the rest, for the generous happy hour food and drink deals, for a lunch date, with the guys to watch the game, with the kids for a fun meal, with the parents, for a gathering. Go, I think you will like it

stopped into this place for late lunch whilst checking out the new shopping center with my family - 133(!!) taps - atmosphere is good in this chain restaurant with restrained decor, a choice of comfortable large booth seating, high stool pub tables or seating around the racetrack style bar - it's kind of a crossover sports bar/restaurant with a families welcome vibe - there are 2 large rooms with viewing windows to check out the many tapped kegs with lines running up to the ceiling and through the overhead ductwork to the bar - the menu lists the beers from 'most complex' to least -funny, but out of 133 taps, there were only about 8 or so that had my interest - I had a Piraat, which our server deemed an 'excellent choice' followed by a Firestone Walker Union jack ipa - with a little more time and money I would have had an Old Rasputin - food was good all-around and service was fairly quick and pleasant - occasionally there were groups of people cheering loudly at the various football games on the various big screens, but it was ok - the bill came out to around $100 for the 4 of us - and we were all full and satisfied - beers were $8 - it doesn't seem like the tap list sees much change, except maybe for seasonal brews - I'd go back for more.

this yardhouse just opened in yonkers on the new ridge center. Im assuming the layouts are the same since this is kind of a chain bar/rest. but I still really enjoyed the open space in the middle of the place that the bar was given. Its massive.
If you want to try something new or just have access to something weird then this is the place. . I did find it nice that the waiters are actually required to know something about each of the beers. They can normally give you a good opinion of something you will like. you must take a trip to the bathrooms so you can walk by the window's letting you see the massive tap room. Very COOL!
This place is a come for the beer...Have some food...Then stay for the beer....They do get VERY packed on prime evenings to make a reservations. This location DOES have a Valet, so parking isnt really an issue. If brian is working behind the bar make sure to strike up a conversation with him...A really cool guy with alot of knowledge and patience for the more inexperienced beer drinkers.
