What an excellent name. The can art makes it even better. Double tap pours a transparent, but slightly hazy copper. No visible sediment, just a blurry image on the other side of the beer. Head is bone white, fine and very relaxed. A slow rise of one finger of uniform foam gives rise to two wide arches of lacing which span the entire circumference of the glass, except where I have sipped from.
The aroma is both sweet and tart, with notes of orange, grapefruit and mango nipping at a chocolatey malt base, held together with caramel, toffee, dried apricot and tobacco.
The mango and apricot work together beautifully here, providing that fruity punch which takes so much of the sting out of the bitter citrus rind and coffee notes that follow. The finish gives an impression of chocolate chip oatmeal raisin cookies that may make this the finest tasting double IPA I have ever put to my lips.
It has a full-bodied mouthfeel and a light crisp finish. Could this style even be done better?
I wasn't sure how good the rating I was going to give this beer would be. But after really mulling it over, I could not give any less than 5 stars. Call me smitten. I am. Cheers!

16 oz. can: This one has a hazy, golden color. A thin white head and no lacing. Good nose. Pine, citrus and tropical notes. The taste is very good. somewhat bitter. Pine, a bit resinous, faint tropical and citrus hops. Nice.
