Had an Avery beer and a cold vegetarian sandwich. I would recommend this place for the food, not the beer. Mine was a simple sandwich layered with vegetables yet it blew me away. And the portions were spot on! One sandwich is enough to feed two people. The beer selection was good. It had only 8-10 taps but there were good choices to pick from. I was happy with my beer and the sandwich exceeded beyond my expectations. I highly recommend this place.

A sandwich and beer place, Boards and Brew satisfies those two food groups well. But don't take my word for it; check out the queue extending outside its doors waiting to order for a Saturday lunch. Not only are there seats inside, but several tables outside as well where alcohol can be consumed. A small "L" shaped bar sits at the left of the restaurant.

Eight different taps pouring beers, and ones that are not too common. Pouring were Bayhawk Honey Blonde, AleSmith Decadence, Cismontane 4th Anniversary, Kili Wit, Betty IPA, Cherry Funk, and Pranquster. In addition to the taps, a handful of bottles were available. Beer pours start at $5, and you'll either get a 9 ounce or 16 ounce pour. I had two beers, but served fresh and not too cold, and was surprised that Cherry Funk was served as a pint.

And that Spicy Roast Beef with jalapenos and au jus; that will kick up your adrenaline. One of many good sandwiches to pair with your beer. For San Clemente, it's a great alternative to Pizza Port or Riders Club.
