Hidden Gem in southern Minnesota. The selection here is amazing. Dave does everything in his power to get the best possible choices of craft beer in minnesota both in bottle and on tap. He recently became one of the few southern minnesota business' to have Surly on tap and not only that but he got Wet on tap.
Great food to eat to go with your beer and the service is top notch. some really great people working here that show you the meaning of minnesota nice.
its a little tough to find out in the rural outskirts of Austin Minnesota but it is situated in an old mill right on the river with great views out the dining windows.
I wasn't excited that i had to go to the inlaws in Austin many times a year until i discovered this place. Check it out!

Best place in Austin for craft beer. Dave (the owner) is a beer enthusiast and is willing to take time out of his busy day to sit and talk beer with you while offering as many tastings you would like. They have 9 beers on tap and a great selection. Dave loves his IPA so there ia always a great one on tap. My favorite was Deshutes Catching Freshies! Highly recomend this place if you're looking for good food, great beer, and a nice relaxing atmosphere.

A beer oasis in a desert of BMC.
A scenic restaurant with a very small bar, but a very solid, albeit small, tap selection. I was there recently and the tap selection was Summit Black Ale, Surly Wet, Schells Burton Ale, Sierra Nevada Tumbler, Odell's Isolation Ale, and Guinness. They typically have a German beer in season (such as Spaten dopplebock, a weiss or marzen). Closest to a BMC would be an occasional beer from Leinenkugel. Most tap beers are served in imperial pints.
Also an extensive bottle collection of seasonal and regulars including a fine selection of Belgians.
Foods are enjoyable with breads, soups and meats (especially beef) prepared very well.
Staff is well trained and professional. The wait staff are not steeped in beer geek beer knowledge, but how many places are - besides, how many of us would need that anyway.
If you happen to be in southern Minnesota on I90 on the way from someplace to somewhere else, make the effort to stop by. If there at night maybe you'll see the Bard owl that hangs out in the tree outside of the restaurant picture window.

What a nice find during my visit in Austin!
Nestled on a back road outside of town, would have been a little difficult for this tourist to find without GPS.
Great food, great service, great everything! Especially the Minn-e-sooo-ta Walleye, not to mention the Spam appetizers. After all, Austin is the home of Spam. Pairs well with IPA.
This place was recommended by a fellow BA and it was a home run.
Fantastic beer selection. A craft beer lovers delight. They have almost anything available in the Midwest.
If you get the chance, give Doo a hug for me - what a kick :)
