Trying the Deep Ellum IPA at Mojos Sports Bar and Grill. The beer poured a clear golden with white head that is lacing like a Victoria secret catalog. The scent was bitter citrus with pine tones. The taste was bitter through the drink...definitely had grapefruit peel zeal with some pine resin. The Mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it's worth a try.

Damn solid IPA.... Very drinkable and pleasant. An incredibly fine, everyday drinker....Especially for lovers of hops. The perfect balance of hoppiness and citrus.
L- Brilliant color. Deep amber, pumpkin in appearance. About a half a fingers worth of head that quickly disappeared which was the only disappointment of this beer.
S- Not much here. Slight aroma of hops and malt. Hints of orange and just a touch of sweetness.
T- Very hoppy in taste. Incredibly smooth. Doesn't leave that bite like a west coast IPA may.
O- absolutely solid IPA.....the fact that it is easily attainable pushes this IPA over the top. Would definitely keep this in the fridge on a full time basis

Man, people that think this is one of Texas' best IPA's need to get out more. Way too caramelly to be a favorite IPA of mine and really too much for the style unless you are talking English IPA (which we are not). Not enough hops to keep it from tasting honey-sweet and not nearly enough hops aroma to be a good IPA. Slightly boozy, toffee-ish, boring. Might pass for an American Strong Ale with just a touch more malt. I ain't pouring it out but I won't have another. Just as a side note, I don't think it's badly brewed and I have had several DE beers that I thought were excellent. I just have a problem with the recipe on this one. But as everyone knows, it comes down to what floats YOUR boat!

On tap at the Holy Grail Pub in Plano.
The beer pours an orangish-gold color with a large white head. The aroma has a ton of pine and resinous notes in it. The beer smells great and the aroma reminds me of the best IPAs from the West Coast. After the great aroma, the flavor doesn't disappoint. I get a lot of pine and resin as expected, but there is also a strong pineapple and mango component which goes with the other notes very well. There is a little bit of biscuit malt, but the bitterness is fairly strong. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

The other reviews will tell you what this beer looks like - very typical unfiltered-looking American IPA. The mouthfeel is a bit heavy for an IPA reminding me of Enterprise IPA from Drydock in Aurora Colorado before they dialed in the recipe back when they were in a hallway connected to The Brew Hut.
No single hop note seems to shine although there is plenty of bitterness - I didn't get a lot of citrus or pine but plenty of "dank" as I also find in Modus Hoperendi from Ska. The aroma is fairly light as I've been spoiled by Green Flash however this is by no means a bad beer. If it suffers from anything it is a lack of pronounced identity but perhaps they will find their groove.
Wow - I guess that's a lot of "shout outs" for a review but comparison to mainstays is inevitable in this style.

Thanks, wagenvolks and xpimptastikx!
A tasty IPA from Texas. Somewhat maltier and sweeter than I'm used to, but this is a fine beverage for a scorching hot day--they have them in Texas and we're having our share now in Southern California! Well crafted, easily drinkable, decent passion/tropical fruit hop notes in the aroma and flavor along with moderate bitterness. Crushed the can, easily.
