12 oz can poured into a Sam Adams Perfect Pint glass.

Appearance
Golden orange with 1+ fingers of off-white head. Good clarity with moderate carbonation.

Nose
Grapefruit, honeydew, honey, and orange zest.

Taste
Grapefruit pith, honeydew melon, and orange zest. Floral with a light sticky dankness. Firm honey and caramel maltiness. Finishes with lingering grapefruit zest and pine resin.

Mouthfeel
Medium bodied, crisp, oily, sticky, semi-dry, and lightly bitter.

Overall
Firmly malted and lightly bitter while maintaining the hops in the forefront. A solid IPA.

Deep Ellum has a lot of good stuff including this IPA. I've drunk many of these and I can never have enough.

(L) Nice clear amber hue with an inch or maybe two off white head.

(A) Modest malty and citrus aroma.

(T) Caramel malt flavors, grass, and citrus, moderate lingering bitterness.

(F) It is crisp and refreshing.

Trying the Deep Ellum IPA at Mojos Sports Bar and Grill. The beer poured a clear golden with white head that is lacing like a Victoria secret catalog. The scent was bitter citrus with pine tones. The taste was bitter through the drink...definitely had grapefruit peel zeal with some pine resin. The Mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it's worth a try.

I think my main qualm here is that it tastes like 100 other PNW-hopped IPAs. It's not a bad beer, but the heavy caramel malt/citrusy PNW hops/lightly boozy/heavy feel take on the style just feels a little tired.
