Poured into 12oz Pint Glass

A - Pours a nice dark hazy orange, non see through. Finger width head dies down quick leaving almost none at all.

S - A lot of Citrus right off the bat...smelling notes of tangerine, pineapple, peach. Not really getting any malty notes at all.

T - Getting a lot of peach and orange and tads of lemon in the middle that are poking through. Has a clean and smooth finish and just a tad bitter, leaving the back of the tongue tingling.

M - very crisp feeling IPA. good carbonation and light to medium body.

Overall this is a great " west coast" style IPA. Tons of citrus and even a little bit of pine on the finish. For big hop heads who enjoy the citrusy, juicy IPA. Awesome beer.

Bottled on July 9th. Consumed on Sept 2nd. Poured from a 12 oz bottle into an IPA glass.

A - Burnt orange in color with no cloudiness. Poured very little head. Distinct lines of carbonation. Very faint irregular lacing as the beer recedes.

S - Hints of lemon, pine, grapefruit. Can almost smell the hoppy bitterness.

T - Intense flavor. Lemon and tropical fruit followed by a bitter grapefruit rind. Completely hides ABV. No malt notes.

M - Dry with a high level carbonation. Complements taste of beer very well.

O - Wow. Highly recommended. Refreshing hoppy citrus mouth orgy.

This is a beer I return to regularly and really like but feel has been surpassed in recent years. It's great looking and darker than most west coast ipas. The smell is piney with hints of orange and passion fruit. Taste is similar but has a good bit of bite. Yet there's an undertone of sweetness that I detect now that I didn't notice in the past. Maybe my palate has changed, but I liked the drier sensation. Still, a classic and a good go-to DIPA.

Hazy medium amber/copper color with orange and yellow hues. Off-white 2-finger head with medium retention.

Hops on display: Citrus, white flowers, pine resin, grapefruit peel, earthiness, dankness.

On the palate the intensity builds as the beer moves across the palate. Grapefruit and lemon zest, nice grain quality, grass and hay, pine sap and resin. Earthiness and a mild dankness.

Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. Well balanced carbonation. Bold bitterness that builds across the palate. Bitterness lingers and generates a long finish.

If you are looking for a strong representation of the West Coast IPA style, you should enjoy a bottle. Very drinkable. Well done.

355ml bottle served into a pint glass bottled 4/22/2013

A- A nice copper/orange color with a fluffy head of white foam and some of the nicest lace i have ever seen in a brew.

S- floral with strong whiffs of grapefruit pith and pine.

T- Fresh bread crust and a touch of sweetness upfront which quickly becomes taken over by strong citrus bitterness representing flavors of grapefruit and a touch of lemon, then developing into a more herbal character with a straight forward bitterness and drying finish with lingering citrus notes in the aftertaste. After the first few sips i had a hard time believing this was 95 IBUs but its starting to come forth towards the end of the glass.

M- its a pretty creamy IPA. Medium bodied. With very smooth carbonation.

D- a tasty beer with a wide variety of hop flavors make it deliciously drinkable.

Overall this beer has so much going for it but i found the level of alcohol a little high. I like IPAs to be around the 6% - 6.5 % range. Once you get over the 7% range you start venturing into the Double IPA valley, which is by no means a bad thing. Good brew nonetheless. Looking for more brews from this place. Well done.
