When I go for a Green Flash brew, I tend to set myself up for an aggressive assault from a beer with a 100+ IBU arsenal. I expect bite and a take-it-or-leave-it attitude. So needless to say I'm a bit taken aback by their more muted, more lovely trippel.
When I say more lovely I mean that in the best way possible, because compared to their signature brews this beer is positively pleasant. Pouring from a bomber into a glass, the beer has a decent frothy head that's a tad thin. A hazy tangerine color is textured by a decent amount of carbonation.
The smell is a bit "pine-sol" like with a bit of a sharp ping in the nose. Floral, herbal and pine notes makes the beer inviting. The flavor matches with tame flavor on the front end the bouquets the a tropical and floral flavor. Hints of the mildest tangerine, rose and an accent of alcohol make this beer fairly light drinking. A light beer with a heavy ABV, watch out because though it's welcoming, it's still a Green Flash!

Appearance This is a bright orange in color and seems a bit too clear to me. The head was very modest as well. It came up OK but went down quickly showing little retention.
Smell This is a big orange smell. Its got a touch of yeast in it and flirts with medicine cabinet but just does stay out of its clutches. The malt is light and concentrated.
Taste This is very potent at the taste. Theres a vodka flavor here with some sharp syrupy orange and maybe a hint of Belgian yeast. Not a lot of yeast but a good flavor on it. The malt again seems thin but present.
Mouthfeel This is too thin for the style; its not even medium-bodied. The ale lacks that full fluffy mouthfeel of a good Trippel and has a bit too much alcohol sting.
Drinkability This wasnt necessarily a bad ale but I certainly wouldnt parade it around.

From a bomber into my tulip glass. It was a burnt orange/copper color with a medium sized white head.
Fruity aroma, yeasty, a little bit of spice.
More of a pear taste, perhaps some other fruits. A touch of sharp spice (just a kiss). Good yeasty background.
A sweet, rich trippel.
Very drinkable, would never guess it was over 9% ABV.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 1pt. 6oz bottle into a chalice.
Appearance: To start with the head produces a big fluffy and creamy foam head which is bright white in color. It slowly fades to a thin covering which hangs on till the end and leaves some splotchy lace on the glass. Under the head sits a hazy, honey amber colored liquid full of yeast floaters that hang in suspension.
Smell: Its aroma is fruity and yeasty with notes of banana and plain white bread.
Taste/Palate: Up front are the classic notes of funky Belgian yeast. It's fruity, earthy and bready with a touch of spice. Banana is the stand out fruity note along with a touch of apple. Alcohol is present here but mellow and adds some warmth. The sweetness and fruitiness hits its peek in the middle before the hops move in and adds there dry earthy/leafy notes and mild bitterness to the finish. The body has a solid medium feel with plenty of carbonation.
Notes: Overall I feel this is a solid Tripel style beer with a good lively palate.

Bomber bottle, poured into a wine glass, pours cloudy dark apricot, near white tiny bubble head, film and then well developed lacing.deeply fruity nose, with some powdered sugar. Peppery spice up front, then rich fruity notes, melon and kiwi, more cutting pepper, then a zest of limes and Belgian yeastyness. I like it, love the style and especially when U.S. brewers try to kick it up a notch. More S.D. style, bold, flavorful and full throttle brewing here. NIce, I'd like to try it with some spicy BBQ.

Pours a cloudy golden-orange with a medium white head. The aroma is very fruity with some Belgian yeast. You also get a little floral component. The flavor is fruit, yeast and alcohol. You get some hop bitterness in the flavor and the floral component is also there. The alcohol is warming. Medium mouthfeel and carbonation. An interesting take on a tripel that I think works nicely.

Bomber. Pours clear orange with lots of carbonation and a huge white head. Aroma is full of the bubblegum and sugar you would expect. I love the taste. Light, full of bananas and spice, yeast and some root beer. A very nice tripel that I wish would find a way into Green Flash' permament rotation.

Purchased a 22 oz glass botte
A. dark yellow/light orange w/slight white foamy head.
S. Sweet, lemon, floral, banana, almost sugar like smell
T. Strong citrus up front form the yeast, clove, slight malt up front, more in the miidle, light hops at the end.
M. unremarkable
D. This bottle was split between two people, and one glass with a meal was enough. This beer goes well with light, spicy food, but in my opinion does not stand well by itself.

On tap poured into a 12oz tulip.
Pours a light clear yellow with a very small white head along with a bunch of thin white lacing. Nose is hoppy and yeasty, very nice.
Taste is dry and crisp on the finish with a sweet and slightly boozytasty. Lots of Belgian candi sugar flavors, overall very good.

L: Hazy gold under a 1” short lasting white foam collar that provides light lace.
S: Spice, pepper, faint banana, hint of clove, a slight earthiness. Fragrance is medium to medium high.
T: The palate follows the nose with the addition of orange, peach, alcohol sweetness, bubble gum and candi sugar. Starts slightly sweet and then dries out. Lingering yeast and malt flavors. Hop bitterness and flavor above average but balanced by the malt and yeast flavors.
F: Medium body enhanced by soft carbonation.
O: Complex yeast, malt and hop flavors are well balanced.

Thanks for sharing this, Josh!
Hazy golden orange and yellow with a thick, persistent white head that eventually leaves thin ribbons and spots of lace down the glass.
The best part of this beer is its aroma, and its awash in fruity esters reminiscent of banana and bubblegum, and is it warms, there's a touch of warm alcohol presence.
The flavor is similarly good, with the bubble gum and banana flavors again leading the way. There's a mild bitterness, and as the beer warms, a touch of warm alcohol.
One of the shining elements of any great tripel should be its mouthfeel, and I think this is where Green Flash's variation isn't quite as good as some other American versions of this Belgian style. It's not as light and airy, even velvety, as I look for, and the alcohol presence is a bit too potent.
A good, inexpensive, tasty tripel from just down the road. I will most definitely be having this again.

Green Flash Trippel is not really an exemplar example of the style, but it is about average. I would not make any special effort for this beer, but if it's available and inexpensive, then give it a shot.
The beer is a amber in color almost like bottle apple juice, and my pour left very little head. There was a steady stream of bubbles from my glass, but it did not stick around. The aroma was mostly missing, some yeast esters and a little alcohol, but that's about it. The taste is spicy, a little alcoholic, and as it warms up the orchard fruit flavors start to manifest. The beer is a bit undercarbonated for the style, which definitely impairs the experience.
