Double StoutDouble Stout

Brewed by:
Green Flash Brewing Co.
California, United States

Style: American Double / Imperial Stout

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 8.80%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
We explored 19th Century British Stout recipes, then charted a fresh course to land on a modern American version of the old-world classic. Our Double Stout encompasses the very best of both worlds. Golden naked oats, dark crystal and roasted malt offer a luscious balance of bittersweet chocolate and hints of coffee. Fair winds and following seas. Smooth sailing, all the way home.

Coffee, Malts, Chocolate. Exactly what I wanted. Really good brew with a beautiful mouthfeel. If you are craving a delicious stout, this is it.

I like this beer. Pours as it's name suggests.
All the ingredients are there-- nice sculptured foamy head
Black molasses in the nose along with a jab of hops.
But on the initial taste-- and maybe I'm expecting something else seeing "Double" in the name-- its initial stance on my palate is thin, a bit flat, deflated-- where's the air pump?
I wouldn't say this if the label simply said "Stout",,, but seeing "Double" I expected "Sumo".
Regardless of my critical demeanor-- it's a great brew with all the classic flavors.
A gorgeous beer.

Excellent stout with great smoothness and wonderful bitter chocolate aroma as warms from a bottle. Lovely dark tan head and decent foam. Great roasted flavor in the malt with slight hop dryness in the finish.

A deep brown dark chocolate look with a big head that looks like a nice chocolate shake consistency. Heavy lasting lace.

S chocolate smell. Smell a twinge of booze. Bit of earth.

T. Chocolate theme with a roasted taste followed up with bitterness.

M. Not super thick, but full.

Overall yeah. A sipper, but good.
