Poured from a 12 oz bottle into snifter at 42*.

A - the definition of amber in color, pours out a nice 1-1/2 " head that slowly dissipated to a thin film, not enough to be called a cap. Lacing is fair.

S - just smush a grapefruit in your face, followed by the resinous pine, smells great.

T - very little of the grapefruit and or citrus comes through. It's dominated by the resinous pine that lingers for quite a while. Might try next time with some food to see hoe it actually affects the palate.

M - it actually tastes a bit thin, I don't know how? Carbonation is light, can feel the alcohol after a third of a glass but all I'm getting is the pine and lingering aftertaste.

O - obviously hoppy but not as complex as I hoped for. Still enjoyable and will try with food on the next bottle. Overall a decent beer but for me needs a little more body.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a stemmed tulip glass.

Appearance: Pours a copper amber color with a dense white finger of head. looks very nice and the lace clings to the glass.

Aroma: Hoppy! A lot of pine in the nose with citrus and floral scents pushing through to the surface

Taste: A right smack of hops to greet you and a light-kiss of caramel malt on the finish keeps you coming back for more, but it’s the hops you are here to see. Grapefruit, Pine, and Resiny flavors are all here. Lets party.

Mouth-feel: Crisp, full, and chewy.

Overall: What a beer. This is a proper DIPA for any hop aficionado. Definitely more assertive than other DIPA's, seems like they're not really going for balance on this but hopheads won't mind. Another great offering from Green Flash.

On tap at Manito Tap House

Toasted apricot with a solid quilt of fine toasted cream foam. Unusual look for a IIPA. Lots of pine, tangerine, grapefruit (tons of grapefruit), some pineapple, nice dose of underlying biscuity malt with a touch of sweetness. Bitter, metallic, sweet, pine, resin, more resin, some grapefruit peel, some nice spicy hops - really hoppy (haven't said that in a while). Medium bodied with small, sharp fleeting carb leaves a active feeling beer with a character wet almost slick finish. Nice mouthfeel here. Good beer.

On tap at Kickbacks in Jax. Poured into a snifter. Big, fluffy, off-white head, high retention. Clear, copper body. Aroma includes a ton of grapefruit and pine, exploding from the glass. Taste is extremely bitter, pine dominating, some caramel malt sweetness in the distant background but certainly one of the most biting and bruising bitter beers available. Delicious, despite its out of balance-ness. Awesome.

12oz bottled December 11, 2012...very fresh. Served at around 40-45F.

Pours clear amber with a thick two finger off-white head that sticks around forever leaving nice sheets and spots of lacing behind.

Aroma is big and dank hops, marijuana, onion, grapefruit, some pine and cat pee, dankity dank. Very good strength.

Flavor is chewy resinous hops, grapefruit, onion, marijuana, quite a big caramel malt backbone as well, needed to try to balance the biting bitterness. As it warms the bitterness subsides somewhat and the big malts come forward more. Decent alcohol bite too.

Mouthfeel is full-bodied for an IPA, sticky, good carbonation.

Pretty good dank DIPA. At first the bitterness was huge and biting...settles down quite a bit as the malts really kick in. I love unbalanced super-bitter IPAs and while this is quite good, it could have been better and lived up to its name more.
