My lady friend told me about this lil' treat...she told me it was aptly named and that the consumption of one of these dandies was the last thing she recalled on a given evening... my read: a solid American Double worth a try.

Mostly clear, coppery color. Thin head with minimal streak lacing. The aroma is tangerine, stone fruit, butterscotch, and caramel malt. The flavor is as the label says: "hop forward". Lots of pine and citrus packed in this one. Very bitter and resinous. Still drinkable tho, and balanced enough. Kinda boozy, with some alcohol vapor. Worth checking out at least.

12oz bottle, BB Aug. 1/17. Fresh!
Pours clear without much head. No lacing.
Smells boozy...like vodka does.
Too dry and astringent for my taste preference. The booze overpowers the hops, leaving them as mere background, just some sticky resin as aftertaste.
At "6lbs per barrel", this is a damn waste of good hops. The palate gets 'wrecked' by the booze, not the hops!
Suggestion: ease back on the abv stick, and let the hops be the stars.

highly hoppy, very bitter. a true palate wrecker. flavor is mostly hops and body is average. nothing truly special but a very bitter beer. i had 2 Stone Enjoy By's before this and Enjoy By is clearly a much better beer but this isn't bad. a true bitter dIPA

From their Norfolk Brewery: from the growler, it pours a slightly dark amber with a modest head. Lots of piney hops in the nose. The mouth gets a nicely hoppy malty flavor. Yum!

Topped with a light tan to pink, dense, uniform foam, the body is a shimmering dark amber.

Dank and fruity on the nose, I get super sticky, sweaty, overripe peach in massive amounts, with a little cannabis and pine. Some woody funk arises as it warms.

Taste flips the script, with super bitter pine coming first, then woody grapefruit and peach meekly trying to fight through this tongue thrashing monster.

Palate Wrecker has a really smooth, slick body, almost soft and pillowy with a balanced finish, if not for the immense and biting bitterness.

To anyone unfamiliar or less experienced with downing intense hop cocktails like this, or even less extreme, normal IPAs, this will scar you for life.

Pours clean golden amber with head and lace for days. Super pine hops with big malt backbone, but the hops win out. So clean n delish, high powered. One of GF's best brews.

The nose on this beer isn't terribly distinctive - ambiguously fruity, bubblegum-y, maybe some grape.

On the palate it is hugely bitter, almost numbing up front. Again, some sort of ambiguous fruit salad notes fall into place with a light caramel sweetness backing it up. There are floral, grassy and grapefruit notes, but mostly big, bitter pine.

I had a little glass of bourbon before this and my palate is certainly confused, if not wrecked. It was expecting some relief from the booze, but the extreme IBUs here are bringing a similar sort of thrashing. Wish I could taste a little more character behind the bitterness, but alas, this beer is what it's marketed to be.

Assessment: Wow! Picked-up a six-pack at Kappy's in Norwell for about twelve dollars. Huge explosion of hops, very nice smell and taste, a bit too high ABV for my taste, but would get as a one-off again.

On tap at Growler Grlz. An IPA for people who are serious about IPAs. But surprisingly little nose.
