Alcohol by volume (ABV): 6.00%
Availability: Rotating
Notes / Commercial Description:
Formerly Hop Odyssey: 30th Street Pale Ale
Hop-forward and San Diego inspired, this is our brewers’ homage to their local craft beer corridor. Uniquely floral and fruity notes from Warrior, Cascade and El Dorado hops mingle with a hint of crystal malt to build flavors of melon and a lingering grassy bitterness. Well-bittered and dry-hopped, 30th Street is a Pale Ale bold enough to suit the palates of hop heads in the land of sunshine and IPA.

From 12/21/10 notes. Had on tap at Rattle n Hum in NYC.
a - Pours a deep amber color with one inch of fluffy white head and moderate carbonation evident.
s - Smells of orange, citrus hops, pine hops, and grapefruit.
t - Tastes of citrus hops, grapefruit, honey, fruity malts, and light pine.
m - Medium body and moderate carbonation.
d - A pretty good APA that was a lot better than their Citra APA. Would drink again.

As an IPA guy by default, I like to try different pale ales as well. This beer pours golden amber. It smells floral and hoppy (which I love), though not so much so that I feel as though I'm sniffing a hops container. There is some carbonation visible. The taste starts off and follows through with some sharp bite, and the finish is one of carbonated hoppiness which might benefit from less carbonation.

Bomber bottle w/o any freshness info that I can find. $6.99 at Decicco's in Ardsley, NY.
Pours lighter amber, with a moderate haze. Lifts a 3/4 inch head that says nicely.
Citric, floral and spiced hop nose.
Aggressive pale ale with more then moderate fruity/citric hop presence.
Nicely done and well worth a try.

this is a very good pale ale. not on par with grunion or fist city, but it strikes a great balance with a little sweetness from the malts, and a heap of hops to make this super drinkable.

L: Hazy gold under a 2” cream colored foam collar with a very fine bead.
S: Fruity nose with spice, grass, floral and citrus notes.
T: Big fruit flavors feature melon and citrus on the front giving way to a spicy, floral citrus rind hop bitterness. The bitterness is smooth and not harsh. Finishes slightly astringent from the hops.
F: Very creamy, medium carbonation and body.
O: An easy to drink pale ale packed with flavor.

Thanks for sharing, Josh!
Clear golden yellow and orange. Thick white head and nice lacing down the glass.
Pungent and powerful citrus aroma and somewhat sweet, especially for a pale ale. Some pine as well.
Citrus and hop bitterness along with a distinct pine bite. Very flavorful.
Medium mouthfeel. A pleasure to drink.
An incredibly delicious, easy drinking, hoppy pale ale. Perhaps my favorite of the style. Just great!

Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a tall pint glass.
Appearance: Pours a bright and hazy golden orange with a lot of rising bubbles. Big three finger white head with good retention. Leaves a good amount of lacing.
Smell: A fruity, earthy, and floral hop forward aroma with good hints of citrus fruit and grass. Upfront citrus hops with hints of grapefruit, orange peel, lemon, melon, pineapple, mango, and apricot. Also some fruit hints of apple and grapes. Floral and earthy hops with hints of grass and pine. Solid malt presence with hints of biscuit, grains, caramel, and yeast. A pretty solid aroma.
Taste: Like the smell, a fruity, floral, and earthy hop driven taste with good notes of citrus fruit and grass. Citrus hops with some upfront notes of grapefruit, orange, mango, lemon, melon, apricot, and pineapple. Subtle fruit notes of apple, grape, and pear. Good presence of floral and earthy hops with notes of damp grass and pine. Backing presence of sweet malt with notes of caramel, grains, biscuit, and yeast. A pretty solid Pale Ale taste.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Juicy, crisp, and pretty smooth with a drying finish.
Overall: A very solid take on an American Pale Ale. Good mix of citrus and earthy hop flavors.
