Notes / Commercial Description:
Formerly Hop Odyssey: 30th Street Pale Ale

Hop-forward and San Diego inspired, this is our brewers’ homage to their local craft beer corridor. Uniquely floral and fruity notes from Warrior, Cascade and El Dorado hops mingle with a hint of crystal malt to build flavors of melon and a lingering grassy bitterness. Well-bittered and dry-hopped, 30th Street is a Pale Ale bold enough to suit the palates of hop heads in the land of sunshine and IPA.

30th Street Pale Ale by Green Flash Brewing Company at Summit Chase Country Club

Clean, crisp ale. Nice bitters on front that linger- a real good beer for a hot day 5/31/17

12 oz bottle into an IPA glass.

Pours hazy amber with 1.5 finger head. Substantial lacing.

Smell is grassy and floral.

Taste matches the aroma. Mostly grassy hop bite at the start and finish. A bit of cracker malt taste in the middle.

Highly carbonated with a sharp mouthfeel.

A pleasant beer for hopheads such as myself. However, I prefer the Soul Style and Tangerine Soul Style IPA's from Green Flash over this one. Would definitely drink again but not my favorite.

As an IPA guy by default, I like to try different pale ales as well. This beer pours golden amber. It smells floral and hoppy (which I love), though not so much so that I feel as though I'm sniffing a hops container. There is some carbonation visible. The taste starts off and follows through with some sharp bite, and the finish is one of carbonated hoppiness which might benefit from less carbonation.

Fairly solid beer all the way around. Nice sudsy appearance. Bitter, resiny hops balanced with some sweet malt. Long bitter finish. Drinkable.

Poured into a custom glass that i picked up at a yard sale, similar in style to sam adams' custom glasses or spiegelau glasses. Color is copper, head is brighter white with fine to medium size bubbles. Head laces the sidewalls of the glass.

Smell is balanced blend of biscuit and bready malt with some more earthy/grassy hops.

Taste is also nicely balanced with forward bready/biscuity malt, transitioning to the earthy/grassy hops; this particular 6 pack was a bit over the freshness date so the dryhops are starting to be less fresh but the background hop and malt tastes are great.

Mouthfeel is a bit sharp and biting on the tongue, nice for pale ale and reasonable at a beer of this strength.

Overall, a very good APA, nice maltiness and grassy hop flavors. Need to get this when its a bit fresher for the full effect.

The 30th Street Pale Ale is solid. It poured a hazy copper with white head that is not leaving much of a lace. The scent is sweet malt and touch of bitterness citrus. The taste follows suite. The Mouthfeel is medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it's worth a try. ....enjoy.
