Thick motor oil poured from 12oz bottle dated 12/15/12.

A: black as night. Finger worth of brown head which quickly dissipated.

S: best part of this beer for me. Nice oak and bourbon followed by a thick bakers chocolate. barrel notes of vanilla and coconut.

T: follows the nose well. Nice bourbon chocolate malt flavor. Somewhat dry finish. Little to no alcohol presence for 10.1%

M: little bit of a let down. Given the aroma, the appearance, and how thick the beer pored I was expecting a more chewey mouth feel. Little thin but still ok. Somewhat understandable given the barrel aging.

O: great barrel aged offering from GF. Wish I had another bottle to age and enjoy. I would drink this regularly if available. Very drinkable for the style.

12oz bottle poured into Treehouse tulip, from the 2013 release. Thanks Tom (airfoil) for this want.

A- Pours a dark black, can see a tiny bit of brownish goo around the top of bottle, about a half finger of mocha brown head forms that recedes at an average rate to a thin layer leaving behind thin layered lacing. Decent carbonation for a stout.

S- Milk chocolate, vanilla, coconut, underlaying dark chocolates and a hint of bourbon. Nice balance and integration of bourbon, about average aroma strength.

T- Milk chocolate, coconut milk, vanilla, slight oak, fudge, finishes with a bit more oak, milk chocolate, and coconut. All the flavors integrate nicely, the bourbon barrel adds a very nice presence creating almost a coconut milk presence to it.

M- Smooth, a little bit on the thin side, decent carbonation, very drinkable.

O- This was a nice stout that definitely used the barrels it was aged in nicely creating a balanced coconut presence that fit with the base beer flavors nicely. If you like barrel-aged stouts this is definitely worth trying.
