Starts with a fruity sour aroma. Hazy straw to gold, white fluffy head, very clean and light, has the saison malt, as it warms more Saison flavors emerge and more malty caramel comes out as well.

The appearance has a hazy golden yellow colored body. Lacing slides in the chalice but clings in the pint glass. The smell has orange peel up front combined with coriander, ginger and hops. Some lemon comes out more so as it warms. The taste is mainly citrus, yet spicy and somewhat refreshingly sweet. The palate is about a light to medium, sessionable, appropriately carbonated and for my liking. Overall, pretty nice Saison at least to me. I'd have again.

(2012) 22 oz Bomber
I expected to throw away this bottle, seeing that saisons are very delicate and that this is a session level abv (4.5%) beer. NOT to be
Look: deep golden with a lovely thick, frothy off white head about an inch in height. head has excellent retention (even after minutes there's still a quarter inch present) and nice lacing rings are observed.
Smell: slight funk, bretty aroma is prevalent. yeasty phenolics and spices are present (something I couldn't figure out turns out to be ginger, but its subtle). no trans 2 nonenal oxidation is detected. just a light solventy thing going on in the background...
Taste: just slightly sour (not even quite tart). light wheat cereal malt flavors combine with orange and spices and mild hop bitterness. the ginger has almost disappeared. very mellow but balanced.
Palate: body is medium and texture very creamy which follows the look of the foam. carbonation is lively and astringency very soft. The finish is short and very dry. A good trait in a saison.
Overall: wow. a 4.5% almost 5 year old beer has almost no aging elements (off flavors and/or aromas)??? it's maybe mellowed to a point where some might find it uninteresting. but its subtle funkyness and soft spices make it a very enjoyable session beer.

Big white head, slightly yellow body. Wheat aroma, some spices, nearly like a belgium triple. Taste is pretty refreshing, a nice body, well balanced. Some peppers and cardamon in it, also orange. Not a long lasting taste, but very refreshing.

For an unfiltered beer, it's awfully clear. Bright yellow, big head that slips down to nil with a quickness.

Aroma: Spice is on top of things, initially, backed up with citric notes, and Belgian funkification.

Taste: Crisp, refreshing bite, clean, smooth. Light bodied, with a mild hop bitterness. Light bodied, easy drinking. Bright citrus character reveals itself, distinguished from the spice.
Good hot weather quencher here. Very toss-back-able, although I feel it may be slightly strong, perhaps higher than 7%, but not much higher, could even be 8+? (No, it's 4.2%!)

I like this. Good beer, and I can drink it.

Classic saison look, smell, and flavor. Nice to see a traditional farmhouse ale brewed to historic strength. Nothing Imperial about this brew. Just delicious.

Almost clear, bright yellow color with white head. Very nice, floral aroma with some honey and lemon tones. Taste is slightly tart, refreshing, with the same honey and lemon. Medium body, very easy to drink. Overall this was better than expected.
