Imperial Red Rye IPA. Served on-tap in a pint. Looks brick red with some haze. Regal foam topper makes up about an inch in head. Laces with some finesse.

Aggressive rye spiciness comes through behind citrusy and earthy hops which lead the pack. Dank grapefruit and pine with a touch of bitter orange and hemp leaf. Bright, which is to say the malts don't come with any sweetness. Just toasty bread notes.

Super bitter, super spicy, and very dank. Grapefruit and citrus rot, orange rind, hop oils, leafy bitterness, pine needle, alcohol, floral flutters, hint of kumquat, and a heavy toast overcast. Has the malts to talk the talk, but the hops are walking. Rye delivers with vigor. ABV might be a little high for the hop/rye offensive. The flavors are all over the map.

Feels hot, like before implied. Good sudsy mouthfeel with a whole lotta body and a whole lotta bite. It even feels remarkably filling.

I can rock out to a ballsy beer like this one. It's huge and bitter, but it tastes pretty damn fine, once you get past the booze and spiciness.

Deep ruby garnet with a rosy dense head that lasts. Stratospheric lacing.

Smell is incredible. Huge juicy grapefruit, mangoes, lemons, hoppy, malty sweetness and rye presence is dominant and welcome. Unassuming but yet so alluring.

Goodnight Irene! Immediately you are transcended to a first class ticket to hop-rye paradise. Resinuous pine, juicy slices of mango, bits of grapefruit, and oh does the rye ever sparkle!. The balance is impeccable. Keeping this simple and real--it is great.

Mouthfeel is chewy, full-bodied and sticky sweet. Rye lingers accentuating the Mosaic. Stayed carbonated throughout.

Best in show. I just loved swishing this beast around during my session. A tremendously tremendous craft. This is crushable in every way. My personnel top 5. To this I say amen!

Had on tap at The Local Miami. Served in a Bell's pint glass.

A- Pours a ruby red color with a 1/2 inch tan head that retains decently before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a light sheet of surface foam. Thin, semi-resilient cobwebs of lacing.

S- The usual west coast hop aroma per the Green Flash signature bouquet but there's a mild rye spiciness lingering beneath.

T- Medium-high bitterness that's similar to other hoppy reds but then there's that moderate complementary rye. Very smooth for the ABV. Balanced, easygoing, very good.

M- A bit sharp and dry. Medium carbonation and a body that's on the fuller side.

O- A simple but delicious red that's so drinkable one might actually call it sessionable but knocking back 3 or 4 pints of this could end badly.

On-tap 7/10/13 at Doherty’s East Irish Pub in Pawtucket, RI, served in a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a deep coppery red color, with a short off-white head that fades very slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains caramelized rye malts, grassy hops and citrus.

T: The taste starts with a strong burst of hops bitterness that is quickly followed by some citrus and caramel sweetness. There’s some spice in the background. The malt character is hearty but not too heavy and brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly hoppy.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, strong kick, good representation of style, this is a good beer to drink for a long time.
