I went on a Wednesday morning, in mid-November, so it wasn't busy at all. There were a few other people there, but I expected it to be slow at this time. This brewery grew out of a garden shop that also sold home-brew supplies. The brewery is a great addition to the still-existing garden shop. They have hop fields next to the patio, which I image looks really nice when everything is growing. I tried their standard flight, and every beer is solid. All very enjoyable. I would gladly visit again.

one of my new favorite taprooms in all of colorado, maybe my single favorite now, its such a cool cool place to hang out, and there is really nothing like it around. a bit of a drive it is from denver, up there in windsor, but its well worth the travel. set up attached to a nice garden center, and where the garden center stops and the brewery starts is tough to tell, they are integrated in such a neat way. there are plants and garden furniture and decor pieces all over the brewery, and the back patio is in a greenhouse, its awesome. they have a huge outdoor patio too, with games and a grill and a sweet little stage area for music in the summer. very artsy inside, and earthy, reminds me of vermont, and i like that. hops growing right outside the brewery too, looks like they have enough space to produce quite a crop. as for the beer, a lot of it is extremely inventive, we had a lemon verbena and raspberry gose that was excellent, a shiitake mushroom stout that was well done, and some hemp red beer with honey that was clever. in general, i think they do hoppy stuff the best, but all of the beers we had were very good. really for me though, its all about the vibe here, and the vibe here is incredible. i cant wait to come back in the summer when the patio is popping off! a must stop on the colorado beer map.

The atmosphere is quite unique- and I suppose could earn style points for that, but I seriously thought I was in the wrong spot. Yes, it's inside of a greenhouse. If you walk across the astroturf, just past the Miracle Gro bags and hang a right at the little yard gnome- you're there! service was great, comfortable place and quite a few on tap- and a few were really good including The Noble One and The Dark One.

We were really excited to go see this place because they have home brewing equipment and a garden center that grows their own hops. Sounds great?!?

However, when we walked in, there were several cats right at the front and it smelled (best I could tell) like cat urine. Ooof! That isn't a deal breaker, because it is also a garden center. I assume that the brew supplies will be separate, away from all of this. No. The brew kettles were right at the front and one of the malt bags had a cat laying on top of it. The barley was in another room, with the door open and the containers not entirely closed. This room had a good layer of dust and a little cat fur.

They did have quite a good supply of equipment and seemed pretty knowledgeable. Prices seemed ok, but not great. One guy working (I think maybe the owner) said they brewed 20 gallons the day before and the wort was fermenting in the bathroom. Ooof, again.

I really don't want to bash this place; they have a lot of potential. They have classes, lots of supplies, fresh grown hops and friendly. If they just add a little hygiene, they will be great. Perhaps, I am a just bit of a clean freak.
