A 500ml bottle with a BB of March 2014. Acquired a little while back from a supermarket. Described on the label as a light, hoppy ale; hopped with First Gold and Chinook.

Poured into a straight pint glass. A clear golden-amber hue with slight sediment and good carbonation. Yields a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before subsiding to a thin surface layer. Some lacing. Aroma of mild caramel malt with hints of grass/hay, fruity ale yeast and subtle stewed hops. Nicely balanced.

Tastes of light caramel malt with a mild hoppiness and a crisp, bitter finish. Notes of subtle caramel, grass/hay, faint floral hops, fruity ale yeast and stewed leaves. Well-attenuated, followed by a restrained bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with prickly carbonation and decent body. Slightly astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of grassy hops, stewed leaves and faint yeast.

Pretty good - this won't blow anyone's socks off but a very drinkable brew nonetheless. Looks alright, while the aroma and flavour have a satisfying blend of mild caramel and grassy hop notes. Body is OK. Pleasantly bitter and thirst-quenching. Worth a punt if you stumble across it.

Light subtle hoppy taste. A soupcon caramel with hay.
Light to medium body.
Pretty average all round but easy drinker.

Gold it's called and gold it is
well that golden amber, clear body big white foamy head that
after a while subsides but only has a couple of bald spots but still clinging 5mm at the edges

The aroma is yeast and golden syrup.

The taste is exactly what the bottle says
light hoppy ale, well from the late 80's early 90's
dash of lime hit of barley sugar yeasty bitter finish

Light easy drinking not too fizzy

This is Alreet like if about thirty years too late
