Crystal clear light yellow pour. Smells like beer (LOL) Bright white head. Move over Bud Light. An amazing, refreshing, crisp, tasteful beer. With what I know of about light lagers, they are very difficult and time consuming to brew. The fermenting process is 2-3 times longer of a process than a normal ale. For a micro-brewery in Western Arizona...they did a absolutely incredible job!

This beer is not retired. It was on tap February 2011 at Mudshark in Lake Elsinore.

Pours light yellow with a white head. Very light yeast nose that is not very assertive. Mouthfeel is thin but crisp; balanced although relatively weak; balanced for what it is. Flavors are thin but with light yeast/white bread tones; a bit of light white bread toast and with a light hop finish. This is not bad beer. It is very simple.

Powerfully light; buoyant, refreshing, forward on dry-stone-fruit flavors, with white floral and even some sweeter-side sauvignon-blanc notes; very clean on the palate, with a high-degree of smoothness meeting a carbonated crispness. A tasty grain-sweetness, but saddled by its drier textures into a pleasing balance. A good summer refresher—"light" done right—without too much body to stand in the way of its quenching qualities.

bennetj17 really came through in support of The CANQuest(TM) and I know that I am very grateful for his willingness to make a trade. I am anxious to spend a day in the CAN and every one helps and counts.

From the CAN: "Upriver Light is not your downstream beer"; "Pack It In ... Pack It Out".

The Crack & Glug came off without a hitch and resulted in two fizzy, foamy fingers of bone-white head with decent retention. Color was a pretty, light lemon-yellow with NE-quality clarity. Nose smelled quite malty for a Light Lager, like it started life as a non-adjunct before being lightened. What a CANcept and what a game-changer that would be if it caught on ... I CAN dream, CAN't I? Mouthfeel was medium and had WAY more taste than any Light Lager in a CAN that I CAN remember. It had a malty sweetness and frankly, anything is more than nothing. Finish was light, crisp and dry. Dang, but I could really see putting this in the cooler for the Light drinking crowd.

Reviewed from notes:

appearance: pale golden yellow with a 1 finger white head

smell: corn, adjunct, sweet, yeast

taste: corn, sweet malts, lager yeast

mouthfeel: mild carbonation, thin to medium body,

overall: lawnmower beer for sure. nothing special here. but easy to drink on a hot summer day.

Cheers,
The CPJ
