Okay, this is a Wetherspoons...but in terms of beer this is perhaps the best Wetherspoons I've ever been in.
This pub inhabits an old bank and it is huge! It can easily seat 400 500 people and there's only one floor...standing room new you're looking at nearly 1000. Not really much atmosphere...its in New Town and will draw everyone. But plenty of space.
Typical Wetherspoons...decent meals at a decent price. But this has to be the best selection of beer I've seen in a Wetherspoons. 18 handpulls and only two repeated over the three banks of six pumps...at total of 13 unique cask beers, and the ones I had were served properly.
Staff was not rude, but not friendly either. It was quite busy and they did appear to be understaffed, but at least they weren't rude.
Food is as expected for a Wetherspoons...good menu, low price average quality. Edible, good, but not spectacular. But the beer selection here was awesome....
