August 2018: Cask half pint at The Lamplighter, St. Helier. Reddish brown colour. Spicy, herbal and malty aroma and flavour, hints of red berries. Very good beer, will buy again when I can.

ah, i just bloody had to go to the new weatherspoons on candem street, i couldn't help myself, when in rome and all that, pint of real ale, its not half bad to be fair to it, chestnut coloured clear enough beer, off white nitro head, very sweet malty aroma, caramel, beer itself does actualy have a nice balance between sweet malt flavour and fruity hops, with decent kick of bitterness to boot, brown bread, caramel, toffee, orange, pink grapefruit, and just a slight nutty character, beer is light to medium bodied with barely any carbonation, very smooth and creamy, very drinkable, it makes for a nice beer at lunch on a random september thursday anyway, pleasantly surprised

L - Quite dark chestnut, clear, pours with 5mm pale tan head.
S - Mild roasty-toasty grains.
T - Medium malty body into significant hoppy-dry finish.
M - Overall it's mainly happening over on the dryer side. Carbonation in the mouth is holding up well (the foam head is now lacing). The hoppy dryness is quite pronounced so it's very refreshing.
O - Rather intriguingly this beer has prominent hoppy dryness, yet there are sufficient malts that balance it. It adds up to a very accomplished beer. I note zero out of place/balance here, and I'd very happily buy it again.
Bought from Premiere Wine near Paddington Station, London W2 @ £2.69/500ml. BB 31/3/2020

It pours dark brown with a minimal head. The aroma is mild but it offers notes of caramel and some forest fruit. The taste is well balanced but the malts definitely have the upper hand. The sweetness that comes through however is fairly complex, with lots of fruitiness and caramel hints. One of the tastiest English Pale Ales I've had in a fairly long time.

From Hipercor. In Ikea's pint glass. Watching Los Soprano 5x10. Reallt nice aroma to caramel and marshmallow. Taste starts the same but an abrupt bitterness interrupts spoiling the experience. Fine still but a pity because the nose promised much more than the mouth gives.
