Pours a dark brown color with a dark red hue. Medium, off-white head that goes down quickly. Scent is quite impressive for this sessionable brown ale. Not sure what the ABV is, but I'm pretty sure it isn't very high. Nice nuttiness with some German hop aromas. Hints of cold coffee as well. Nice malt character in the nose. Taste is roasty at first with some coffee and dark malt flavors. Lots of nuttiness and some pretty hefty hops for a brown ale. Slight roasted bitterness at the end. Mouthfeel is light-medium bodied. Drinkability is high. Overall, brown ales are not typically my thing. I recently had Port's Board Meeting and was blown away by it, and pretty much in a different league than this beer. However, I feel that this is a well-crafted, easy-drinking, sessionable brown ale that I am glad I got to try.

12 oz can. Pours brown with a medium frothy tan head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is nice roasty chocolate malts.

The flavor is roasty chocolate malts, nuts and some brown sugar. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a solid brown which is not my favorite style. I remember liking it a bit better on tap.

Dark brown in color with a fingernail of khaki colored head. Brussels lacing. Enticing aroma of caramel, chocolate, and dark malt greets me. There's plenty more chocolate and caramel with a toffe like finish packed in with each sip. The mouth is creamy and rather chewy. This is a real treat.

(L): Brilliantly clear, amber/brown, low off-white head that quickly fades to just a collar in the glass.
(S): Sweet caramel and toffee with some light dark chocolate/roast over a bready and toasty base. Low citrus hop aroma.
(T): The caramel/toffee quickly gives way to roast and hop bitterness. Smooth bitterness. Hop flavor is resin and grapefruit that lingers.
(F): Medium-Low carbonation with a slightly thin body.
(O): A solid hybrid Brown with an English malt bill and American hops. The complexity of the aroma gets a little lost in the flavor with the hops taking center stage. Overall a good American Brown with a complex tasting malt bill, moderate bitterness and American hop aroma and flavor.

Small light brown head settles to a quarter inch froth above a clear dark brown to black colored beer.

Very light dark roasted malts aroma that seems to have a light sweetness to it.

Vary dark roasted malts with some dark chocolates in a the taste.

Dry aftertaste with quite a bit of the dark malts taste remaining behind with this medium to full bodied beer.

Pretty taste brown ale, I'm glad I tried it.

Look: Finger of off white head dissipates relatively quickly. Beautiful deep dark brown in color. Barely any light gets through this one.

Smell: Dark chocolate, freshly percolated coffee, some other roasty malts. Smells to me what a cabin deep in the woods smells like.

Taste: Super roasty toasty coffee and toffee. Nice chocolaty sweetness. A little nutty.

Feel: Its a little creamy but still feels a little thin to me. Roast really lingers in the back of the throat.

Overall: I love this beer. It really reminds me of camping, where everything is dirty and or burnt. I'm also really not great at camping.
